He does indeed hit to all fields. Fly out left... Fly out center... Fly out right :)

I'll take it. A lot of hitting is luck. If he's flying out and better yet, lining out, to all fields, it's a really good sign to go along with his plate discipline and plus defense.

11-game hitting streak for Bourn. He's approaching league average with his OBP.

Yep, Sac fly by Lee to short center according to ESPN.

Bourn scored from 3rd on a sac fly by Lee to shallow center. Schumaker had to make a running play over his shoulder and Bourn's speed allowed him to get home easily.

Stros may have something with Abad, he has pitched very well since coming up.

4 walks now though through 3.2 IP.

Edit: 4 BB through 4 IP. He strikes out Belliard to end the threat and keep the no-hitter going.

A little unlucky for Wallace there. He rips a ball up the line but Pujols is holding CJ on so he's there to turn the 3-6 DP.

I somewhat sympathize for the Cardinals, if I was a fan I would be raging.

They just seem to be playing heartless.

They won a World Series just 4 years ago, and their teams have been good for much of the decade. I'd much rather see the Reds make the Playoffs than the Cardinals again. I have no sympathy for their fans.

The amazing pitching continues... Figgy didn't have his best stuff but he came through in high pressure situations repeatedly. That's part of being a good pitcher - finding ways to grind it out when your stuff isn't there.

Castro picked another ball out of the dirt, by the way. That was pretty much the one concern some people were having early on about his otherwise stellar all-around catching.

Amazing stuff by this crew, now 45-37 since the god awful start.

Question, can we start calling this squad a "good" team? They have played .549 baseball for more then half the season now and their pitching has been dominant since the break.

They've certainly been playing well for an extended stretch. I'm less concerned with labels though as I am with how they perform over time when they get a fresh start at 0-0.

The Cards are labeled a "good" team but their season is falling apart.

Roy O. still hasn't given up a hit through 5 shutout innings. The 4 walks is unusual but the results are good.

He's only given up 1 run over the last 20 innings and 4 over the last 35.

Roy is in a zone today, he has struck out 4 straight and 5 of 6.

And that was that for Roy's no-no, now he needs to protect the lead.
