yeah, doing some crazy stuff on the baseball diamond = borderline psychotic killer.

it's posts like these that make me take that stand probably.

I won't defend either position, but I will say (from familial experience) there are some really dumbass things that are ingrained in baseball culture. Some of the backwards thinking is really asinine. IMO both teams are at fault, but only because in some situations the baseball way of thinking goes against common sense, and frankly just seems childish. On the other hand who doesn't like a good bench clearing brawl so here's to hoping they keep acting like 1st graders.

Interesting. Just read the Colby Rasmus requested a trade earlier in the season. Easy to look back in hindsight and say you should've done this or should've done that but would you have traded Roy O to the Cardinals for Rasmus + other prospect(s)? Though, still no telling STL would've moved him.

Colby Rasmus requested a trade earlier this season due to his frustrations with manager Tony La Russa, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss.

Both Rasmus and La Russa have recently said that their relationship is fine, but it's no secret that they've had their issues. Some of the problems have occurred due to Rasmus using his father as sort of his personal hitting coach. The outfielder also is probably not happy about getting as many days off as he's gotten, with Saturday as a prime example when, in a big game against the Reds, he was on the bench and Nick Stavinoha started (Stavinoha went 0-for-3 before Rasmus pinch-hit for him in the ninth and doubled). It's highly unlikely the Cardinals would trade a player as valuable as Rasmus, but it's possible situations like this could lead to La Russa not returning as the team's manager in 2011

This about to or has turned Nuclear, from Pujols...

@JeffPassan: "If he doesn't want to be here next year, we need to figure out a way to get him out of here and find somebody that wants to be here."

@JeffPassan: "That'll show you right there a young player that doesn't respect what he's got. He needs to find out the talent and ability that he has ...

@JeffPassan: ... and pretty much keep his mouth shut and play the game. Let the organization make those decisions, not himself."
