    I would have tried at least one pitch up and in to Pujols... nowhere near the zone, but just enough to make it enticing for him.

    He doesn't strike out... ever... but if you are going to strike him out, you have to make him offer at a pitch that he likes.

    He loves to hammer stuff up and in... but if you have enough life/movement on your fastball (which Hawkins does), you can beat him up there.

    Ah well... we just found a way to get Pujols out!!!

    Molina is a decent DP candidate... but he's lucky that Ankiel didn't do more with that pitch (like put it in the Crawford boxes).

    Its situations/games like these where having a truly dominant closer is a huge assett.

    I still am not sold on Valverde... he's too streaky... but if he's ever going to become consistently "the man".... he can start tonight.
