Coste is really slow and old. I actually agree with holding him.

The 7th inning just made me Vomit!

1 run on 4 hits!!! Dave Clark is a good 3 base coach but he should have sent him!

Coste is slower than Christmas. He'd have been out by 5 feet.

I'm gonna agree with JD, stopping the runner was the smart decision. It would have ended up being an easy out as quickly as that ball got to the outfield.

You stop the runner and you give Tejada a great chance of driving in a run.

Obviously didn't work out...but it was the right call to stop him....he wouldn't have even been close to being safe.

The center fielder held the ball a beat and the throw was so high it almost went over the catchers head....I think he beats that...heck....even Ed Ott could have beaten that.

I know Brooks but you have Carpenter on the mound late in the ball game you need to force the action! Just my way of thinking in games like this!

And they still would have had one run on 4 hits.

But why take the chance with a Tejada on deck? The first hold was the one I had issue with. That was stupid, even with Pudge running.

Coste was about 1 step beyond third when the throw was started. He would have been out by plenty. Everyone would have been screaming "why send him with Tejada coming up?".

We got to Carpenter better than most have this season. 8 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.

Oswalt pitched well. Just a couple of bad plays/breaks. Game of inches.

And it's not over yet. Down 1, 6 outs left. Franklin has been a beast though this season.

Yea Miggy is on deck but when you have a pitcher like Carpenter on his game I just think you force it and make the Cards make a play...

That is what I think too...worked for them in the top of the inning.

not a manager alive that would do it probably, and it's unconventional and possibly idiotic, but this is one of the many situations where i'd give pujols a base.
