Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread). 7-20 Kyle Lohse, RHP (4-5, 4.26) vs. Brian Moehler, RHP (6-5, 5.08) 7:05 on FSN 7-21 Todd Wellemeyer, RHP (7-7, 5.56) vs. Wandy Rodriguez, LHP (9-6, 2.81) 7:05 on FSN 7-22 Chris Carpenter, RHP (8-3, 2.26) vs. Roy Oswalt, RHP (6-4, 3.65) 7:05 on FSN
if the bases are loaded, and the game is close please walk albert pujols as a matter of fact the only time he should see something to hit, is when we are up by more runs than he can drive in at that at bat
Lohse dominates us every time. I don't have a good feeling about that pitching matchup. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lohse go 7 innings/1 earned.
Lohse does pitch well vs us in the past but remember we never hit Billingsly until Friday and we pounded him sooooo...keep hope alive! On a side note, why is Matt Kata on this team when Maysonet is an option???
Because it's better for Maysonet to play every day than get the random pinch hit/spot start that Erstad gets. Plus, Maysonet has been in a good slump since getting sent back down.
LW? Game 1 - Lohse is a lot better than Moehler, and after a rocky start shaking off the rust from his last start (first off the DL), he was pretty smooth. I can only imagine he continues it. Moehler can be shaky, yet he is pretty consistent. Should be a close game, but I give the edge to Pujols and his monster stats against Moehler. Game 2 - Wandy will dominate Wellemeyer. Period. Wellemeyer has been questionable at best all season while Wandy has had ace-like stuff lately. And he's pitching at home! Game 3 - I have no clue who will win this game. Carp vs. Roy-O? Ace vs. Ace? Whoever wins, it'll be like, 2-1 or 1-0 so long as the bullpen doesn't mess up. I guess I'll give the edge to our bullpen, though Franklin is impressive.
Good Points but Id say this...Maysonet isnt a top prospects he can be a good utlity guy and proved himself earlier in the year while Kata while has nice versatility didnt do much at all earlier in the year. Just play Maysonet and let him fail if it comes to that.
I don't disagree with that. I'm hoping as early as 2010 we have a middle infield of Manzella at SS and Maysonet at 2nd.
