I don't want to absolve Wheeler (especially in light of Loretta's bomb), but the strategy isn't working with Pujols. Putting Lane in here is just nuts. He should not be in the Major Leagues.

No, it's more like Fire Purpura! Actually, just cut Lane and get Burke back up here.

Today's loss is on me and my bro. Before Eckstein's homer in the first, my bro says "He's down 0-2. Swing and a miss coming up." I told him no way, and boom! I also talked up So Taguchi in jocular fashion, then goes yard. I also thought "Pujols is having a good AB" and proceeded onto the 3 run blast. Bleh, me need beer.

Went to the game today. With the exception of Pence, even the normal Houston Astro yahoos, who look at nothing critically were getting restless in the stands. This was the first time in a long time I heard a lot of complaining from Astros fans in the stands.

I really thought they were going to pull off the comeback. If they could have pulled out a win today it could have done wonders.

Hunter Pence is officially the man.

How far is he away from qualifying as the major league leader in average? (I.E. He has the best average right now, just not enough at bats....how many does he need?)

I looked at the leaders for average and Varitek made the list with 149.

    Hunter Pence has 123 AB's

Further down the list, Barry Bonds has 132 AB's, so he's getting close to qualifying.

I believe it's based on plate appearances, not at-bats. Bonds has who knows how many walks to add to the 132 ABs.

Major, you are correct. I looked it up. It's plate appearances, not AB's.

Batting Title: To qualify for the batting chamionship, a player must have a minimum of 502 plate appearances or 3.1 plate appearances per number of his team's games.

perhaps the sun represents the "blast" you had and since no one likes a lollipop for a present/ending gift item... the conclusion or the "lollipop" you had was unsatisfactory.
