He won't... he'll notice how Wandy hit his spots early in the game, got some outs, and just made one bad pitch (so far).

Garner reminds me of V-span fans, when it comes to Wandy.

Does Carlos Lee always swing at the first pitch? For a guy that strikes out as little has he does, that's a disturbing trait.

Then again, he does do something we needed more of last year (getting a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs).

Nick - Yeah. He got that one pretty solid, but it seemed like he was just trying to put it in the outfield for a sac fly than for a hit.

Scott just smoked that single. Hope we can nab a few more runs.

Wainwright could also be starting to tire a little... first MLB start, never gone 3 times through an order before, beginning of the season.

Well, how many times have our hitters (namely Lane, Ensberg, Biggio) failed in that situation trying to hit a HR, than just getting the sac fly?

I know we're not paying him to hit loads of sac flys... but its still a productive out.

Wow Adam, that was one of the most pathetic hits I've ever seen. 2 men stranded.

at least we scored I guess.

    GO STROS!

This ump and his delayed calls are pissing me off. It's not that they're bad calls. They're all borderline that could go either way. But he waits three seconds, making me think it's a ball, then he calls the strike.

Its the little things... Oswalt failed to get a huge bunt down in the first game as well.

You know, if Wandy doesn't screw up at the bottom of the order, this would be a real nice game for him.

Overall, I'll take 6 innings and 3 runs from Wandy.

Yep minus that HR, he has pitched a very good game.

That was a quick 1 2 3 through the Astros heart of the batting order. Lance, Lee, and Scott.

Wandy is pitching a pretty good game. You couldn't ask for more from a 4th pitcher

Yep... too bad he didn't bring his magic powers to get the bats going like usual in his starts.

But, I'd rather have games like these for him than the other ones (where the bats roll, but so does his head).

WTF kind of call was that Garner?!?

Pathetic... nobody out, 1st and 3rd, down by two runs... it would have been a bad play even if the squeeze had worked.

The fact that it was a DP should erase that thinking from Garner's mind forever if that situation ever comes up again.

i can't remember ever seeing anyone thrown out on a successfully executed squeeze. only us.

and only we could even turn it into a double play.

1st and 3rd, no outs, into 2nd w/ 2 outs. 1st and 3rd w/ no outs is pretty close to bases loaded and no outs so we continue to suck at turning possible big innings into big innings. if you could squeeze w/ the bases loaded, we could probably make it a triple play.
