Yeah, that 800 or 900k base salary is really going to cripple our offseason.

he's signed through this season only.

although the likelihood of this being biggio's home game is extremely slim, since it's nearly a given that he'll get the chance to get 3000 hits in an astros uniform for next season.

Garner still didn't get it. he benched Scott pretty significantly during a 2-3 week period earlier. it made no damn sense!

It's 950k and every bit matters. Those kind of contracts add up when your payroll is going to be only ~90 mil. If Palmeiro wasn't signed for next season would you resign him for 1 year/1mil right now? If the answer is no then it was a mistake.

there's a HUGE difference between a contract being a mistake and a contract being crippling. if we end up cutting him, than yes it was a mistake to give him a deal that long. however no matter how much you dislike palmeiro losing under a million will not remotely effect one move we try to make this offseason. we're not the marlins and i don't think the list is all too long of teams with a payroll of "only" ~90mil.

Man, Lance was just SICK last night.

And Scott has been awesome. I hope it's not a fluke and he carries on this success to next season.

It seems like whenever Hirsh misses his spot, its a HR. Every other time, he gets an out.

Memo to Hirsh: don't miss your spot.

That inning has to do wonders for Hirsch's confidence. Two men on and he gets Pujols to pop out. Bases loaded down 3-0 and he gets Rolen to pop out.

Hopefully next year he will help fill the void without Pettitte and Clemens (possibly).

a little running joke with me and nick i believe.

on how hirsh threw 98 mph in the minors and throws a 62 mph fastball in the big leagues

so the hitters approach to hirsh is basically this,

    and then
