Burke has give away 2 runs with a bad defensive play and Edmonds stole a run with his great catch and those 2 plays are the difference in the game.

That was what I proposed in the other thread and although you thought it was too objective (before I offered you sole responsibility for deciding who wins the bet) you stated:

"i have been planning on donating to the tipjar in the near future anyway though."

This sounds like a no lose proposition for you. You were going to donate anyway, so choose this opportunity to do so. Again, how can you lose?

If he is traded, you get to decide who wins the bet. Since you are planning on donating in the near future, delay until 08/31 (I'd consider 7 weeks or less the near future). If you win the bet, give the $10 you were going to give anyway. If you lose, simply bump it up to $25.

What reason would you have to possibly refuse that deal? Why is it so confusing when YOU and you alone gets to decide who wins the bet? Essentially, that takes the confusion completely out of the equation. Even if I disagree with you, I promise to post the following if you decide you win the bet:

    "O.K. I'll send Clutch my $25"

I promise to NOT question your decision in any way, shape or form on this BBS.

If the trade is made, I will bump the "If you were Timmy P" thread and ask what is your decision. From there, you make the decision, I post my comment (if I lose) and it's over.

Why the rolleyes? I was making a little joke (note the smiley). As I said, I have always supported Ensberg. I was glad to see him do well last night and hope it continues.

If he keeps up that pace he's going to hit 100 home runs this season!

The way Rolen and Edmonds have been hitting, go ahead and walk big albert all day and see how that works out. The Cardinals hitting isn't what's been hurting them lately, it's their starting pitching. With a combined starting pitching ERA over 5, and still in first place, they must be doing something right (hitting-wise). Without Pujols for weeks they stayed in first. With terrible pitching they've stayed in first.

Roger is going thru a little Tim Redding-ish syndrome... gets 2 strikes on the batter, but unable to put them away.

Then again, if Lamb fields the ball cleanly, this inning is over without a run scored. If Mike and Burke aren't going to hit, their poor defense becomes magnified.

Ouch, 28 pitches through only 1 inning....hope Rocket can at least go 5...means we'll be depending upon the Miller's and Springer's to win it.

Let's hope the offense clicks today. 2 runs is nothing to overcome!

Nice to get a run in that inning, but god, Ensberg has got to be moved down. His plate discipline is horrible. He constantly takes pitches right down the middle and then swings at pitches that are way out of the strike zone. It's like he is deciding before the pitch is thrown whether or not he's going to swing.

You can't do that. You've got to judge the pitch and react once it's thrown. I don't think Ensberg does that well at all. He just guesses & swings.
