It makes NO sense... unless its Wandy that's massaging the bats/players before every game he pitches, and causes them to hit the ball well.

Its completely different than Lidge having a high ERA, but still getting the job done as the closer... his job is to not lose the game. Wandy's job is to pitch well, regardless... simply because you can't always count on the run support he's gotten.

I hate when we face leftys as it guarantees Lamb will be out of the game.

Ensberg back in the 3 spot tonight ... with the pitches he should get to hit in front of Lance it's time for him to step up and do something.

Lets hope Wandy can bring his offensive magic again.

    Marquis is a lefty?

Why the hell would Wandy walk the guy IN FRONT of Pujols... things like that are why his pitching makes no sense.

Also, Garner needs to stop changing the lineup CONSTANTLY... stick with what works (Biggio, Burke, Lamb, Berkman all in the top 4, with Burke/Lamb switching spots occasionally... and Ensberg isn't that bad in the 6 spot).

If they're going to hit Ensberg right now in front of Berkman, I'd rather see them bat Ensberg 2nd and Berkman 3rd. That way Ensberg isn't in a prime RBI position in the lineup.

Probably got a bad call from the ump... but he shouldn't have been in that situation (3-0 count) to begin with. C'mon Wandy!

EDIT: I hope garner realizes that these types of starts are NOT good... even if the team ultimately scores 12 runs for him, and he allows 5.

Wandy sucks. I am tired of him losing composure and giving up big innings.

Taylor Buchholz should be our 5th starter when Backe comes back, that's for sure.

I don't know what's more amazing... that Wandy hits the pitcher with the bases loaded, or that if he didn't do that he would have only allowed 1 run this inning.

To be honest ... I think Wandy needs to go to the Pen and we should be having Nieve starting some of these games. Wandy just isn't getting it done, and I think Nieve was looking VERY solid the last 4-5 starts before he got sent to the pen.

you dont want wandy coming out of the pen either. also, i like nieve coming out of the pen, and he's going to become more valuable as the season goes on i think.

I agree with that 100%. His W-L ratio is kind of a fluke. But WHAT ABOUT BERKMAN? Holy freaking crap! Then Burke right behind him? Someone's trying to prove something and it ain't Berkman. He told Pujols to get that crap out of here. I love it.

Don't worry, when Backe comes back Wandy goes bye-bye.

So you don't want Rodriguez starting or relieving but you consider him a key piece of the trade puzzle for Carl Crawford that would be the best the Devil Rays could do?

Burke has had 2 bad reads 2 days in a row ... lets hope it doesnt hurt us tonight

Edit: Ugh ... unfortunately Wandy is pitching and mistakes are magnified

Of course it was also rocketfat's opinion that Rodriguez was not going to be a reliable number 4 guy in the rotation. Aside from 2 bad games, he has been rock solid.
