Qualls is batting in the spot vacated by Ausmus (8th). Bruntlett takes Everett's spot, and Munson is in the 9th spot. Qualls can pitch another inning if need be.
These aren't the days of Julian Tavares, Dave Veres, and Cal Eldred. We should be able to get to Looper (after we give up this first out... there's the 0-5 for Willy). Seriously... FIVE Ab's for a guy who actually has less of a plate presense than Adam Everett.
did you say adam everett or chris evert? edit: thank you whoever dropped that. plus that takes away the gidp possibility (though with the way we're running, maybe not).
Now the Cards show off their stellar defense. Meanwhile, the Reds lose to the hapless Braves (with their ace, Arroyo), and the Brewers lose a series to the awful Cubs. Maybe they need to just contract the entire division.... make it like the old days, with just the East and the West division winners going to the playoffs.
hell no. after years of the rockets struggling in the insane western conference, i hope the stros make it into the playoffs 10 games under .500 just to even it up a bit.
Ugh... I hate it when Joe Morgan makes good points. Lance chased a horrible pitch. (but just watched a pretty good one).
nooooo, i wanted this on lance's bat. we know wilson isn't walking so that basically leaves winning it or a double play. i'm not optimistic.
I think they said that was the 5th time he's done that this year. He's a good catcher with a nice arm.
He's only caught the guy 5 times, but he attempts a ton of those snap throws.... in fact, he's had some errors on those that have cost the Cards some games.
