Sucked to have to watch that choke in person. Can't blame this on the bats either. We got two clutch hits out of Biggio and Berkman. We all talk about needing a bat, but it has been the bullpen costing us the most losses. That said, right now you have 4 automatic outs in the lineup, including the pitcher. Everett and Ausmus are just awful period. Ensberg is just as bad, but we all know what he is capable of.

Brad Lidge has to removed from the closers role until he becomes himself, IMO Wheeler or Qualls would be better right now, that's not saying much. Maybe Nieve. I hope Roger blistered Lidge after the game.

I like this idea... give the kid a shot to close a game or two.

Because he's the best hitter in baseball and the most feared hitter in the clutch. He is amazing, if you ask me.

I honestly would never pitch to him again if he has the chance to change a game.

The guy has too much mojo! Not to mention he eats Astros pitchers...all of them!!!!

I was at yesterday's game. All I can say is I hope I NEVER have to see Lidge coming out of that bullpen again while I'm at a game. They didn't even show the Lights out Lidge animation on the screen when he came out. Found that kind of ironic.

They showed it tuesday when he came onto pitch. Maybe they could sense something; they knew he'd blow the save :p

This should probably be a thread topic (or not ;) ), but does Ensberg remind you guys of Jeff Bagwell at all? I'm not talking about the slump he's in...just that, like Bags was for most of his astros career, Morgan puts up a good average and good power numbers, but never really gets the big hits when we need them.

He'll knock it out of the park in a 3-0 game, but when it's clutch time, he seems to just disappear, kind of like Bags used to do. (However, Bags did have a few semi-clutch seasons)

Not saying Ensberg isn't a good player or that Bags shouldn't be a hall of famer, but they remind me of each other because they always ground out/strike out in late innings with the game on the line

No they didn't show it on thursday. They showed his video on the jumbotron but they didn't do the Lights Out thing on the main scoreboard like they always have.

well, reds and brewers both lost again. stros have another chance to turn around the damage of yesterday in a big way, and go into the break with a win.

    will we poop it away?

What the hell is wrong with batting Burke, Lamb, Berkman, Wilson, Ensberg.... and moving Willy to the 8th spot when Biggio is getting a day off?

Willy will end up getting 5 AB's today... won't get a walk... and for everytime he pops it up it just further shows that he's being overmatched by MLB pitching, where its to his benefit that he actually hits it on the ground.

We're the only team who can have a guy who isn't an everyday player (Willy), and who doesn't have a good OBP, automatically bat leadoff or #2 when he does in fact play.

Tonight is a clear example of why Willy shouldn't be anywhere NEAR the top of the lineup. He's been up there in two key situations, against the best pitcher in the game, and you just can't waste those opportunities because you're lucky to get any of them when Carp is on.

Luckily enough, Lamb was able to pick him up... but if we win its despite Garner's decision making tonight, not because of them.

i agree, but for some reason nobody on this team is capable of hitting sac flies it seems. so many people have pissed away the exact same situation these past few weeks, it's hard to single out taveras.

my main problem with taveras is that he's playing period.
