No, I'll tell you what organizations are losers. The ones that keep getting the top draft picks.

Remember 2005, we could have gotten Derrick Johnson, Jamal Brown, DaMarcus Ware just to name a few we trade down with NO and take Travis Johnson. What has he done?

Good teams draft well regardless of draft position. Good teams can ACTUALLY spot talent.

I am sick of tanking games and no it DOES matter if they win this game! Psychologically for the team and the fans. Playing for next year for the past 4 now 5 years sucks!

Winning this game gives an indication that there truly is light at the end of the tunnel.

I personally think Carr is gone regardless. He sealed that fate in the Raider game with an exclamation point put in the Pats game.

He's had chance after chance to show something, to demonstrate his worth as the QB of this team. He flat out has not done anything IMO to warrant him getting a shot here next year.

I believe Kuby is clearly giving him an opportunity to show off what game he does have in hopes that some stupid ass franchise out there will bite on a trade possibility instead of having to cut him altogether.

Screw that, screw losing, screw losers.

We're tired of losing. Screw the draft. I want a W. I'm tired of this stupid "home run or bust" mentality. Every year, it's the same old thing. Rockets or Texans. We can't win the championship, so let's tank. It's a loser mentality. We've had enough of that crap this season already. We need a winning culture. I need my Texans to win, and I need them to win CONVINCINGLY. Beat the crap out of those hapless Browns. Make me smile on Sunday. Thank you.

You are an idiot if you think losing is the answer.

If we lose out every year for a good draft spot, how will we ever be good??? You think we will magically turn from horrible to NFL champs in one ****in season?

I agree with the sentiments of the last few posters.

20 teams aren't gonna make the playoffs. Does that mean that all 20 of em should go in the tank next week to try to improve their draft position.

The Texans have done a lot to make me unhappy. And I wasn't real thrilled with the way they played at the end of a couple games last year. Almost made me think they were trying to "tank". Surely Sunday they will play with integrity and try to reach 6-10.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid to cheer for victories and see camaraderie on the team and the guys feel good about themselves for a change. You're absolutely right we are absolute buffoons to pine for such outrageousness. What in the world was I, were We, the stupid fans thinking? Oh the humanity!

Exactly my point. Funny how other teams no matter where they draft, just flat out get it done. Denver, Dallas and New England to name a few.

We dont need three or four more years of playing like ****! It's time raise the bar in this town. Kuby and Smitty are going to rebuild this team and this time correctly. Meanwhile, lets turn on that enthusiasm at Reliant that a college-esque scene and was wreaking havoc with the oppositions play calling and execution. Remember that, Texans fans? :D

We keep sucking because Casserly and McNair have drafted poorly and handled free agency poorly. It's not the jersey or the helmet or the logo, it's the personnel making the decisions. We have a new GM now so let's see what he can do. Winning this game is meaningless. Nobody five years from now is going to say we're a playoff team because we won this game. We'll be a playoff team when we get better players. This game is nothing and a lot of the players on this team now won't be here when we become a playoff team because a lot of our players aren't very good. If anything, it was the Indy game that meant something. You're off.

They tanked so they could draft....Mario Williams????

They could have won the damn game against the 49ers...had a 3-13 record and still drafted Mario. VY would have been gone already and so would have Bush. That would have worked out better in the end for the Texans.

Instead they tanked...drafted Mario and royally screwed up....and the city will never let them forget about it. Especially on this damn board!!!!!

In the grand scheme of things you have a point. Beating Cleveland for true picture of state of team value is pointless, because they suck way worse than we do. For aesthetic, cosmetic purposes it somewhat dulls the pain of a another brutal season. I'm not saying this team is good not even halfway but, to change the losing culture you have to stop losing especially games you should win. Plus, this is last game of the season and those emotions from this game CAN have somewhat of an impact even going into next season. Remember, two years ago? After that game, this franchise regressed into nothingness evenmoreso than before. Our record since that game then up to this point 7-24. I think psychologically it would provide a boost to the team as well as the fans to go out winners. Even if it costs us a better draft pick. Yes, the Indy game definitely meant something but, with a win on Sunday you finish the season with a 2 game winning streak something to finish a season the Texans have never done. I think that merits some meaning to this largely meaningless game. :p

Yes, C&C Idiot factory did a wonderful job trying to screw up this franchise. I cant believe CBS gave that bum a job as what, the resident GM perspective for the talking heads at pregame and postgame.

McNair if he's smart will see he has a coach and a GM with REAL football knowledge and a much higher IQ wise on the gridiron than he does. Thus, he will do the smart thing and open his wallet and let them do all the talking. He does that and we should improve VASTLY next year.

Dudes that want this as a loss and want to "improve" our draft pick chances are the same ones who diss our management for not handling our "good" draft pick places well. So it doesn't matter where they end up in the draft, because by your silly opinions of how our team handles the FIRST PICK, we'd be in the same place. So why worry about where we end up? It makes no sense.

    WIN.

Texans win 35-10. Ron Dayne rushes for 100+ with 2 TD. David Carr has his best game yet, and throws for 300 and 3 TD.

Mario Williams gets a sack, Demeco 10+ tackles and a fumble recovery. That is all.

The Spurs lost David Robinson after 6 games that year and had to rely on a 37 year old Dominique Wilkins. Tank my ass. They had one star player, lost him, and SUCKED.

Besides, there's something called the LOTTERY. It's pitiful to tank games so you can have only a 25% chance of getting the first pick. The 2nd worst team has a 19.9% chance. Let us not forget that the Rockets only had the 5th worst record when they got the #1 pick that they used on Yao Ming.

And th '83 Rockets were so bad that they didn't need to tank. The Pacers went 1-9 to finish that season and STILL finished 5 games ahead of the Rockets who, depite getting Hakeem, PASSED on the greatest player of our generation.

uummmm... akeem was pretty much the consensus number one pick that year. everyone knew jordan was "really good," but akeem seemed to have the most "upside" of anyone that had been around in a long time. portland and chicago both wanted him, if i remember correctly -- i've lost a considerable amount of braincells since then and my rockets-colored glasses could be shaping those memories a bit.

    back on topic...
    Texans - 20
    Browns - 13

The Texans and Houston need a win more than a draft. Lets go out on a good note and a successful season. Losing is crap.

    WIN TEXANS!!!

From 2-14 to 6-10 in one year.

Major improvement with a lot of garbage still on the roster. Just wait until Kubiak cleans house and gets a few more weapons to work with.

    The future is BRIGHT.
