Schaub is our franchise QB. Sage is doing great in relief, but once Schaub comes back Sage will go back to being the backup (if he is on the team). We gave up too much to give up on Schaub after one year regardless of how good Sage looks. I'm a little confused too, Sage had a good game, but it's not like he had an unbelievable game. Our running game and defense was as good as it's been all season and was the reason why we won this game.
Game Summary Texans' Williams posts 3½ sacks, smothers Cutler, Broncos HOUSTON (AP) -- Mario Williams dragged down Jay Cutler for the third time, jumped up and sashayed like a hula dancer. Last year's No. 1 pick had a career-high 3½ sacks to lead the Houston Texans to a 31-13 victory over the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. With its seventh of the season, Houston tied the franchise record for victories. Texans (7-7) fans yelled "overrated" when Williams was picked, but chanted his name Thursday as he posed Superman-like with his hands on his hips for several seconds after he took Cutler down for the second time. Williams performance made him Houston's career sack leader with 17½. He's had a sack in a team-record five straight games and has 13 for the season and nine in the last five games. His sack of Cutler forced a fourth down and the Broncos went for it, but the pass fell short, giving Houston the ball. Ron Dayne, who didn't start because of a sore ankle, scored on a 6-yard run on the ensuing drive to push Houston's lead to 17-6. The Texans all seemed amped up for the their first prime time game since 2005 and their first game with the roof open this season. The normally subdued Dayne, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1999, celebrated his touchdown by striking the Heisman pose. The Broncos got their second straight big game from receiver Brandon Marshall, who finished with 11 receptions for 107 yards.
You have to think about it in realistic terms. Next year Sage will be entering the final year of his contract. We've already invested a ton of money and picks in Schaub, we're NOT going to resign Rosenfels. Do you want him to walk at the end of next season and get nothing in return? The bottom line is Schaub is the starting QB of the Texans, if he's healthy, whether you want to believe it or not. It's better to get a draft pick we need this offseason as opposed to letting him walk for nothing next season.
SUPER MARIO IS A BEAST!!!! I just got back home. WHATA GAME!!!! MARIO IS A MONSTER SAGE IS AWESOME TEXANS FTW!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!
Everyone knows I'm a VY fan. Mario had a monster game, though. To all of you diehard Texans fans, enjoy this one! Sage should be the Texans QB. The Texans are a year or two away from being a serious contender.
I know where you're going, but the Titans aren't going to trade for a QB. And I think the Colts and Jags are pretty happy where they stand at the QB position.
On NFL Live they were just sucking on Mario's knob. Its funny, they talk as if theyve been riding his jock forever. Freakin Bandwagoneers. Regarding Sage, he's playing great. I wouldnt mind trading the guy if Schaub could stay on the field. If this is a consistent theme, then the Texans NEED a backup that is capable like Sage.
I loved that too. Tomorrow Skip Bayless will probably talk about how he always thought Mario was the best pick and how a stud defensive end is so hard to find.
Replace Schaub with the name Carr and it is the same argument we been hearing since the inception of this franchise I'm sorry but I don't think anyone has shown me enough to say they got a Guaranteed starting job hell this squad is not good enough outside of Andre Johnson Rocket River
I meant far more high points than just Andre Johnson. We have a promising young defense, a great receiving core, two good QBs, possibly some good RB play. Andre Davis/Jerome Mathis (if healthy) next year could be a great special team duo.
