After abolishing the DH, I would change one more rule. Every pitcher has to either finish an inning, face at least two hitters or get at least 2 outs once they enter a game.
In politics that's called legislating stupidity. Situational pitchers have their place in baseball; the situation isn't supposed to come up 5 times a game every game.
Mills will consider using five-pitcher rotation They're moving back to a 5-man rotation, kicking Keuchel out and chopping everyone's extra day of rest. That last part was mostly responsible for the recent strong starting performances. All so Mills can carry an 8th reliever to relieve an overtaxed bullpen for which he is largely responsible for.
Keuchel will be part of that 5 man rotation because its looking like Wandy will be gone soon but Mills is so clueless sometimes.

I know its total schadenfreud to wish ill of Greinke but a small part of me thinks that him imploding twice in two days would make Wandy look a lot more attractive.
Alright, Lyles went 7 ip and was pulled. I say the number of relievers needed to close out the game is 3. If he'd gone 6, i woulda said 6.
This has gotten ridiculous. Mills cant be gone soon enough. Fernando has been terrible the WHOLE season. There is no excuse to play him. NONE. A 3rd grader could see this guy needs to be in High A ball, not the majors. Good *****ing grief. Yes. I'm mad!!!!!

you think they are just waiting till after break to bring him back up so he can keep playing games? crazy stat i just figured out...if the pirates win the central, the past 5 division winners will all be different teams (the 5 teams in the division next year). seems almost impossible.
I would think additional roster moves are: Bixler and Downs to AAA and Wallace and Gonzalez back to Stros. I think Moore has earned a chance to stay.
No. But he does determine who is on the playing field and when. My anger is not so much that he gets played (thats only a minor, but necessary annoyance), but a tie game going extra innings? That has to be about the worst possible situation to put him in.
