I miss the nice easy 123 innings by Wags and Pre Pujols Lidge but hey dude normally gets it done when healthy hey even when he is getting drilled in the face by a line drive...

Wags was plenty shaky.... and downright awful in the playoffs for us.

Lidge in 2004 was as dominant as it gets.

That looked outside but we'll take it. Sketchy stuff...

Did the ump have a plane to catch??? Il take it no doubt! Val with his usual tightrope act! Wandy has turned into 1B right behind OSwalt 1A!

Wags did it over a good number of years.... but when you have that many opportunities, you will have some shaky outings. Adding his makeshift slider helped prolong his fastball (which hitters were starting to catch up with).

Hell, the fact that I can recall at least two blown saves when he was with the Phillies against us should say enough.

Post Astros career I can't disagree mainly because I remember nearly jumping through a window when Biggio took him deep but yea he got tons of chances being on great teams still in my book minus playoffs he was nearly perfect in many years with ERAs below 2.5 in most years and besides 2000 when the team fell apart he was a stud!

He fell apart in 2000, and that was part of the team's problems.

Also, his talent never made up for his mouth.... he still doesn't know when to shut up.

Just ask the Phillies and NYM fans how they feel about "Billy"... if he had been playing in a bigger market before that, he would have been ran out of town faster than he ultimately was given his propensity to keep his foot in his mouth.

Actually ERAs around 2.50 about half and half but nothing near 3 minus 2000 with his injuries.

Didn't he get injuried in 2000...but again can't disagree with his post Stros career or his Opinion being known more often then not.

That catch by Bourn in the 8th was huge. He's a heck of a defensive asset for this team.

He was injured from the start of the season, and tried to pitch through it without telling anybody.

    His performance spoke for itself.

The one time where he should have opened his mouth, and he didn't... whatever, that 2000 team had other problems as well (but they had a heckuva offense).

Freaking Cards rallied to beat the Pirates so still 6 back(5 loss column) but Cubs losing so atleast we might make up ground on them.

    Positives -
    Wandy being Wandy
Bourn showing how important he is along with joining the blooper reel for a while.
Blum coming through again along with Micheals still hitting

    Negtives -
Still having trouble with getting people in with less then 2 outs becoming a slight trend.
Bullpen a little shaky but effective

Overall a much need series win!

Outside of Wandy's 4 worst starts of the year, his ERA is now 1.5, that's quite impressive.

Yea I am just so excited about Wandy...

    ERA W-L SO WHIP
    2.51 11-6 131 1.20

    John Santana

    ERA W-L SO WHIP
    3.02 12-8 137 1.21

    Cole Hamels

    ERA W-L SO WHIP
    4.77 7-7 111 1.33

Can we say he might be the best lefthander in the National League this year?

alysonfooter Hampton plans to make his next start. He'll know more Tuesday when he tests out the knee. He's had meniscus tears in the past.

I am glad Hampy is somewhat ok but did they just ignore the fact he gave up 3 runs in 2 innings before he left...?!?!?!

Am I being too optimistic thinking that we're the only team in the majors who will be adding three (maybe four) arms to our starting rotation - two of which are definitely top of the rotation pitchers this year, a big-time run producing bat, and a quality setup man to our team after the trade deadline?

Probably setting myself up for a huge disappointment, but I'm really hoping they can piece this thing together until they get back to full health. If we're within five games or so going into mid-to-late August, I think we'll be in for another exciting finish with tons of scoreboard watching!
