Yea you give up 8 runs in a game and chances are an "L" will be the result. Hey Pavano is looking like a nice addition for the Twins, wouldn't it be typical of baseball if the Twins beat out the White Sox and Tigers thanks to Pavano after both those clubs gave up tons to pick up big names at the deadline?
I follow the Indians closely. Pavano had a few real nice outings for the them, too. Then, there were the other outings...
Interesting...so I guess the Twins are banking on 6-8 decent starts from Pavano and hope they can survive the rest still think its a good deal for them..low risk high reward maybe! WOW one swing and we back in this baby!!!
There's only 50 games or so left in the season. If he has 8 decent starts, that would be almost every remaining start. I don't think they are banking on anything. It's more like hoping. They have well-publicized pitching issues. They also won't be giving up much for him. In that sense, it's extremely low risk with a more likely medium reward at best.
Well they have 53 games left and if they go with a five man rotation that would give him 10 or so starts no? So hey 6 ok starts 4 avg to bad starts would seem ok to expect from a 5th starter... but yea you cant expect much from a 5.37 ERA so yea anything would be nice I imagine...
2 innings in a row we load the bases with the top or middle of our order due up. 5 outs to work with in those situations and we score 2 runs.
WOW baseloaded no outs and you get 1 run...baseloaded one out and you get 1 run, thats not good, a couple of well placed hits and we right in this.
Sad thing is the top and middle of the order are to blame for not coming up with clutch hits while the bottom of the order did a nicee job of getting on base lol
Baseball is the most unpredictable sport in my opinion...just never know! Crawford boxes HR puts this baby on ice if it wasn't already...
If we load the bases in the 7th, 8th and 9th and don't give up any more runs, the final score will probably be 11-7.
True that and double whammy as the Cards are taking care of business in Pitt 5-1...so 6 back and 5 in the loss column ewwwww I had a feeling last week would be make it or break it week because of the schedule and that was before all the injuries. When do you guys think the Stros put up the white flag for the season?
You certainly can't point a finger at Carlos. He's stepped up huge during this rash of injuries. His OPS over the last 28 days was 1.041 and that number will likely be even better after tonight.
i didn't see him, but it looks like he got thrown into a terrible situation to make his debut in. wouldn't make too much of it. that said, i also wouldn't expect too much of him anyway. i feel like he probably pitched over his head in AAA this year, and expect him to flame out in the majors (hope i'm wrong). let's just pray that Bud is the real deal.
