With Rich Hill being sent down and the Brewers losing pitchers, the Astros can stay in this race long enough to grab another piece, or two at the deadline. I don't know what else we have to trade, but maybe we can swing something. Considering that Wandy's been out and Roy's struggled a bit, we are in pretty good shape right now. This is the best clutch hitting team we've seen for the Astros in a while. Great win today!
The fact that you are mentioning Backe with a 4.42 ERA in the same vein as Sampson with a 7.96 ERA is further proof that you have no understanding of baseball. Yeah, because it sure hasn't so far. Oh wait...I forgot. You know their true colors. Your posts are hilarious. I say you are wrong. I'd tell you how wrong you are, but then you might report me for being too harsh. Sampson has no business being in games right now. I'll agree with you on that one. Calling Chacon with a 3.32 ERA after 20% of the season has been played is just stupid. I doubt he will end the year with a 3.32 ERA, but it would be a surprise if he is over 5. Backe is below the average NL ERA right now at 4.42. Being just below the average ERA makes you a bum? That is really funny stuff. So tell me, is Oswalt a bum? I mean his ERA is 5.57. If Backe and Chacon are bums with their stats, then surely Oswalt is too. Not going to happen. Sampson is awful. His ERA is 7.96. That generally buys you a ticket to Round Rock. Actually you did. Your statements are so extreme as to Brandon Backe that one could infer that they are deliberately concocted to draw a negative response.
What's happening to Sampson? He used to be so reliable. I hope he figures out what's wrong because they need him.
It was annoying watching Baseball Tonight...tonight, Karl Ravbitch kept joking about the whole team not being at the plate to meet Pence.
that's the first thing i noticed when he threw his helmet off to get to the plate, like where is everybody? i guess there's nothing too it, but it was about the most subdued walk-off celebration i've seen.
I was thinking the same thing when he got to the plate...where was everybody else?? On a side note, on yahoo sports they have the top 10 homeruns of the week. Astros had 3 of the 10, with yesterday's walk-off being the highest at #3. I guess if you want to count Borowski, then we have 4 highlights.
I think it's just that Hunter runs around the bases so freakin' fast that no one got a chance to get out there, which is fine by me. I hate it when guys "admire their work" by waiting for the ball to leave the yard before moving and taking a year to trot around the bases.
