First off, the first batter of the game was an obvious out at first base. The dude just ran through first. It didn't seem that he did anything to the ump. (saying anything or gestures). he was thrown out by more than 5 feet. but the ump started yelling at him and followed him yelling down the base line as the hitter ran through first base. The Ump continued to follow him screaming at him. The batter turned around pissed off wondering why he was being yelled at started yelling back.

Then came the manager screaming at the ump wondering WTF he was yelling at his player saing it was bull**** that the ump was following his player. The yelling match continued for a while.

Then a batter later, that same ump missed a call on Cirillo. He just beat the throw from Biggio. but he was called out. This caused Cirillo to throw his helmet as hard as he could into the dirt. It flew up high off the ground. He was automatically thrown out. Then out came the manager again and the yelling started up again. And then he was thrown out.

    Lots of drama.

The game has started as confusing as the last game ended.

    GO STROS!

    TOUCHDOWN TEXANS!!!

We have 55% of our lineup batting under .242, how does Garner expect to win it?

    Pettite
    Ausmus
    Everett
    Ensberg
    Lane

I mean that is one SORRY offensive lineup.....SORRY...

My guess is he wants to rest some of his guys before the big series with the Mets, especially since they're not gonna have the luxury of Oswalt, Clemens and Pettite pitching...we'll need all the offense we can get.

    REST??? REST??????

YOU TALKING BOUT REST??????? They are not 3 games up, they are 3 games back....Scott should be in there tonight at least him.

Also this guy is a Junk pitcher....when you have a junk pitcher you need patient hitters, this line up does NOT have patient hitters.

And, Chris Everret just GIDP......but he is GREAT on defense.

    I was just saying...seesh :p

In a tight WC race down three games though, I'd imagine you don't have the luxury of that. But then if you don't give 'em rest and trot 'em out there fatigued they could blow the series or worse get swept; don't want that. But all things considered I'd say Luke Scott at the least would be young enough to not need the day off.

I think at this point it isn't about rest but finding the right ingredients to make a successful run at the WC. The only one that should be resting is Biggio and that's because we have Burke to back him up. Sorry if I seem rude, I am just devastated that Backe is in his situation. My heart is broken. But, check out Andy's bat? He's trying to do better and his ERA is declining so I think we will end up with a W on this game. Swizneep.

Morgan's a patient hitter.... a little too patient perhaps.

Well I see that Biggio's in the lineup (haven't been watching too closely tonight) so that debunks my theory that he's resting players (cause he'd be the one to rest). But I do see that the lineup tonight is the one that took us to the WS last year, maybe Gar's trying to get some last season mojo going...but that hasn't really worked this season....so I dunno.

Lots of first pitch strikes from Davis, got to be READY to hit......however, if you include the slumping Biggio, most of the lineup is under .260......which is horrible.

Only Berkman, Taveras and Burke are having quality years.
