Great. Incorrect about PHing alot, not about it being his rookie season which is the most significant part of my statement. Where did I say that it was "all Coors Field". I said that his stats were influenced by Coors Field. His OPS his only full season at Coors was .880, his OPS during the half season at Washington was .770. So yes, his numbers did show a significant drop. So much for putting words into my mouth.
With an upcoming series against Pittsburgh plus a day off today, I don't think Lidge should have been "held out" of last night's game. Wheeler should have been available. Also, I'd actually rather have seen Pettitte face Fielder because that meant that Capuano would have been out of the game. That would have been key.
Lidge had pitched the previous 3 days including a 29 pitch 1 2/3 inning stint the previous night. Would you really want to pitch him 4 consecutive days? Considering he has never done it in his major league career, I doubt the Astros would want him to do it in game 15 of this season.
When did you ever mention his only full season at Coors, and what relevance does it have? You specifically discussed Burke's numbers last season and cited Wilson's K numbers from last season, so given that it's only logical to assume you were talking about last season unless you clarify otherwise. If you've ever, at any level in the minors or majors, seen evidence that points to Burke being able to produce at even just a mediocre level for a corner outfielder on a good team, please let us know what it is. Burke has value because his numbers will likely be above the norm for the average 2B, but as a LF his production is and will be abysmal.
