I think this would be a good game to get Lyon some innings ;)

Escalona batting with a guy in scoring position. Says a lot about our hopes in this one

Hunter's managed to stave off his usual June swoon but he's had a total power outage since June began. 1 XBH in June (a triple).

Last night's game was a joke, Bourn did well but everyone else were pathetic.

Wade has already put up the white flag, I think Bourn will be the first to go and when Wandy returns he will be showcasing his talents. Pence will be the hardest to move but eventually should be gone by the deadline.

While this team has holes everywhere, pitching is biggest, imo.

I would have been just as happy if the Stros first 30 picks had been all pitchers.

With a very average offense, you just cant get behind nearly every game and play catch up.

Last night, we were doomed by the 3rd inning.

The Astros have overtaken the Twins for worst record in the league. #1 pick here we come!

And I really couldn't have picked a better time to cover the minors...

How exactly will Pence be the hardest to move? Surely you mean he will be the hardest to let go because Pence has the highest trade value of any player on the team right now.

Yeah, I didn't understand that either. Pence is cheap relative to his productivity right now...and he's under contract for a while, as I recall. I would think they'd be able to trade him and net a nice return.

I really like Hunter. I'll be a fan no matter where he ultimately ends up.

Trade Lyon to the Yanks, they have no set-up man.

Sorry, I guess wrong choice of words. Not hardest in terms of tradeablity but in terms of finding the right package. Because of all the reasons he is attractive to move, the Stros don't need to move him yet. So unless a team is ready with a nice package of prospects, the chances of Hunter moving aren't great. So you see, while Bourn and Wandy are much more moveable in terms of fan's expectations, the Stros will need to be overwhlemed to move Hunter.

That being said, I do think a contender will pony up a couple of nice prospects for Hunter at the 12th hour.

This MLB gameday pitch tracker says that Jordan Lyles has thrown 6 different types of pitches in this game: 4-seam, 2-seam, cutter, slider, curve and change up. It also has one unknown pitch. I didn't know he had all this in his arsenal.

Solid outing for Lyles tonight. It'll be a shame if he's sent down.

Holy **** he crushed that ball.

I'm ashamed to have the same first name as Lyon.

    Yeah Brandon Lyon!!!!

Not sure of the story here: McCann does it again or Lyon does it again.

Lyon definitely looks like closer material.
