I don't care if this is a lost season. Release Feliz. I have more faith in an unproven rookie lefty hitting Wagner then Feliz. Throw in the error and that turned out to be a bad move all the way around by Mills. Q made a perfect throw. Would've been 2 outs, nobody on.
Statistically, at this point, Wade's 3 signings of Feliz, Lindstrom and Lyon have all performed poorly. You can't judge a player by half a season so you shouldn't judge them by 3/4 of a season, either. For releivers, you should give it at least a couple of seasons. Still, none of them have performed well, overall, up to this point.
For those of you that use Twitter, how do you create tags? I've seen the #BudChuck one used in the past. I want to create #RelizFeliz.
I will say this, while we are improving our draft position this is infinitely more fun then watching the disaster earlier in the year. Saying that, Feliz needs to go now...there is NO point having him on this team taking important ABs away from younger players who could be gaining good big league experience. Please don't release Feliz and bring up Anderson Hernandez either, I would release Feliz and bring up BB who can play first or even consider Clemens from AA.
And this is how I learn about a trade. 2nd time that has happened to me. And remember how I was saying this is the worst Astros Bullpen I can remember? Our relievers ranked among the NL: 4th highest ERA Highest BAA 2nd highest OPS against 2nd highes WHIP 2nd lowest K/9
That sucks, particularly for a team in contention. It was a relatively innocent looking play, too. Then again, that kind of stuff happens when you're an athlete in your late 30s.
What a sad play all around. Hunter doesn't get a hit. Conrad replaces Chipper and becomes the hero of the game. And possibly the last play in a HOF career. I'll never like Chipper(For being a Brave, and winning the 1999 MVP over Bags), but I don't like to see players suffer season ending injuries, especially if this was the final year of his career.
