It seems like we blew a bunch of saves a year or two ago. Not sure where this bunch ranks. I haven't dug up the stats. They don't seem too bad but maybe that's because we're losing all the time so I just don't notice it.
We've blown more saves before, but we haven't had so many high ERA and high WHIP guys. Lopez has been a surprise, but everyone else from last year has pitched worse.
Oh well, on the bright side like Juicy pointed out, Happ pitched REALLY well, CJ continues to hit lights out and Castro had nice ABs along with a hit.
Anybody think Mills will say stuff like "we have all the confidence in the world in him" and "he's been great for us all year" and "he'll be fine next time out" like he did after the last blown save?
Sure he will. Or maybe he'll just go to Lyon. In other news, heard Billy wanted to retire as an Astro. Obviously not the case.(I guess not surprising or new but is for me anyways)
Excactly why we should've traded someone like Lindstrom, they were hitting for a high average against him and he walked a lot of guys, eventually he was going to give up runs and blow more saves like he has recently. No reason why the 'Stros should've kept him
Mills: Lindy... no Lyon was great tonight. Reporter: Any thoughts of switching around Lyon and Lindstrom. Mills: No, not yet... No, not at all... [Lindstrom] is the guy we want out there. He was still fairly positive but, naturally, he picked his words a little more carefully. He says that Lindstrom's back was fine tonight.
The only thing that bothers me is these should be no pressure games since the season is in the garbage can already, I doubt we can rely on him if we were in a playoff race as a closer. Obviously not future closer material.
Looks like CJ and Wallace are being moved up a spot and Sanchez down to 7 while Kepp back to 2. Bourn Kepp Pence Lee CJ Wallarus Sanchez Castro I like this lineup, more balanced throughout the order. If no moves are made this offseason, or even August, then I can see this being the opening day lineup in 2011.
Things got a little hostile at the ballpark last night after that 2nd HR in the 9th by Glaus. Wearing my Braves jersey probably didn't help. But most Astros fans were pretty nice. Just the drunk ones that were being douchebags. All the Astros fans around me were really concerned about Chipper and told me how much they love Bobby Cox and to see the Astros honoring him was pretty classy. Overall, a good time at MMP. Much easier to go in there being a visiting team fan than it is in Philly.
Had to have an afternoon game when its on TV for me. At work and of course miss out on one of the <10 televised games I get.
