This seems weird to me. Looking at Yahoo Scoreboard, admittedly not the absolute standard, but they just assigned a LOB to Yuli even though he got the runner in.
They're now showing 8 LOB for the team, but 18 LOB in the totals. Toronto has 3 as a team, but 5 assigned to individuals. Maybe there's a programming error.
Not sure if it was mentioned during the game or after the game but watching the Blue Jays post game, they mentioned that maybe the Blue Jays catcher was tipping the signs. They used the Correa homerun (he pointed towards the dugout as he was jogging to 1st), Gurriel homerun, and Bregman single as examples of the catcher messing up.
It’s always puzzled me to see fights in the stands. What on earth could lead to punches being thrown. Then I realized, well, too much beer I’m guessing.
What in the hell got into Yuli during the offseason. His batting eye and patience are magnitudes better than it's ever been so far this season. He's always had the natural gift for squaring balls up, but he is taking far more pitches and usually taking well, not just watching strikes.
He said flat out he was out of shape, over weight, and not really dedicated last year. Re-focusing on simply your health and well-being can go a long way to garnering improvement in other areas. Granted, I’ll still wait till at least a third of the season to declare this to be the truly new norm, but it is very encouraging that he’s not just looking to collect a check the last few years of his career.
That would explain last season, but so far this is an overall outlier from his entire career, not just last season. Maybe it is just early and he will regress to some of his traditional tendencies, but his approach has been crazy good so far.
He's certainly been impressive. Who's the idiot that said we blew $$ on LF (Brantley) and 1B (Yuli) the other day??
No, you missed the point. You explained correctly why the team stats add up to 8 LOB To reiterate, I'm asking why LOB stats for the Astros add up to 17 when we only had 8 men LOB. How are they doing that statistic? The most likely answer is that they are doing that statistic incorrectly, but if that's not the case, it is likely somebody on this board understands how they are doing it, and I was curious. Oh well, your reply was dignified and I appreciate it. The snarkier comments bugged me. I hope my tone in this post isn't offensive.
