Doubtful. That would require putting him on the 40 man, and they wouldn't want to start his service time.
Super 2 is still part of the new CBA.... so earliest we'd see him is probably next July-ish (if he's not traded in the off-season).
They're going to have to make a 40-man move for Davis. I'd assume they're putting Moran or Brady Rodgers on the 60-day...but it would be nice if it was Sipp.
yes please. DFA him off the 40 man and run him through the wire to see if someone takes his contract. If not, he can hang at AAA
I don't know at all, but with the general severity of facial fractures and surgery around there, I would've expected him to miss ~3 months [not a doctor]. That would put him out for the season. Hard to see a reason to rush him back in significantly less time just for 1-2 weeks of baseball. Won't be nearly enough to find a spot on the postseason roster.
Rotoworld has a blurb that says he is "expected to be sidelined until September". Lots of wriggle room in that statement.
I saw where he got the day off yesterday and will run the bases today and tomorrow. If all goes well, he should be back for the next series.
There's no urgency to bring anybody back from injury too soon. They can afford a 2-3 stretch of playing sub .500 baseball (which may not even happen... there's a lot of bad baseball teams out there).
