Dude...this is a "heads I win, tails you lose" statement. If they make moves, and don't win it all, then you get to claim this was our best shot -- but then in future seasons, when we have gaps to fill we either traded the guys that could've filled them, or we're dealing with less depth. If they still win it all, then I guess they got lucky?
Not at all... I expect them to make moves every year they're in contention. When they specifically don't... AND they don't win it all... there's certainly reason to second-guess. If they happen to win it all this year, its great... not luck.... but keep in mind, they did acknowledge and tried to improve the team at the deadline. If they don't win it all (or come short of the WS), I'd presume the vast majority would consider the season a disappointment.
Embarrassing inning right there. Lets just all sit back and watch him throw right down the middle with very little movement so we can strikeout.
No sweetheart, I was there, watching the play live. Christ son, do you have to find an argument in everything? Put your big boy pants on and clam down.
You said it was an embarassing inning due to the strike outs. Altuve struck out looking (by freezing on a breaking pitch that started at his knee and broke over the plate). Doesn't that make him part of the embarrassment?
No but he stupidly traded two good players for a garbage pitcher who has given up several runs in just two outings
Fiers has pitched pretty damn well but his two mistakes carry into the bleachers. And now we get to see this bullpen struggle through the rest of this game.
