They are probably not going to get rid of Rasmus because of his ridiculous salary but Gomer needs to be gone. Send Tucker down and bring up Hernandez and Kemp. The prospects haven't done well hitting wise but Rasmus and Gomez continuing to get extended playing time is like waving the white flag and playing out the string. Base runners for the Blue Jays trying to keep the Astros in it.
Wasn't Hoyt warming up earlier? Why didn't they bring him in instead? Dammit! Harris is not good now. 3-1 is probably ball game now.
the same way Gregerson went from blowing everything in the 9th to shutting down the 8th, it's quite possible Harris could do the same. I'm not ready to write him off immediately. This is his first appearance since then! He gave up that barely-fair double on a good pitch on the edge, a fielder's choice, and a ground ball that is playable at normal depth. Not a good inning, but I don't think you immediately go to the guy just called up from AAA based on 1 outing
The pitchers brought up from AAA this year have shown the moment is not too big for them for the most part. Harris can't be trusted. He's been pitching like the journeyman he was before he came to the Astros.
Good work swinging at ball 4 twice White. We could do without any baserunners here to delay the loss. We all need to get to bed
so you're using Devenski and Musgrove's 1 outing to provide evidence for Hoyt? Doesn't really make sense to me. I believe in Hoyt just fine, but I don't see why you'd throw a rookie ahead of Harris. And talking about how Harris has been pitching.. again, Luke went through the same type of pitching before returning to the 8th, where he dominated. Given that Harris did that very recently (dominated the 8th), why don't you think he could make the exact same transition?
