They need to just go ahead and bring him up now. Forget him getting seasoning in the minors. Right now I bet he could come in and do better than most of this lineup. This current lineup is going to sink them.

Will be nice if the guys stop acting like a AAAA hitting team, depressing to watch. If Lance really hurt his elbow, will be interesting to see if the Astros make a play for a Volquez or Shields off waivers.

They swept the Angels and scored 13 runs on July 24 in the final game of the series... The offense hasn't done **** since then.

Can only fake it so long.

No real compared to last year. Wanna know why we got by last year? Because Keuchel and Collin dominated.
    This year?
    Both are complete dog ****

Awesome news!! Just bring him up already. He's 32 and has already played professionally.

    Nice history

Man, if Bregman and Reed were at least playing to about 75% of what they were doing in the minors we would be so much better. With Musgrove looking good today all we need is them to step up a little and it will be like a really good trade deadline pickup. While Bregman and Reed are struggling, you have to feel Gurriel will be a different story since he has been around the block a long time. Who wouldve thought that Valbuenna and Marwin would mean this much to our team.

Want to see Dave Hudgens hold batting practice?

Man, without Margo/Val in the lineup this offense is flat out terrible. Bregman/Reed may be the future but if the Stros are going anywhere this year they need to find a post deadline veteran bat.

I'm begining to think it is time to bring up Musgrove/Devenski/Martes etc.... is the future and trading McHugh/Fiers for avg/above avg controllable bats is the best way to go forward for this franchise.

I'm not sure to what to make of the total failure of the Reed/Bregman/Singleton is starting to make me wonder about what is being taught in the Astros farm system and if they can teach young bats it's time to trade for some proven bats.

They don't exactly have a good track record with proven bats either. Gomez, Rasmus, and Gattis all have the lowest batting averages of their careers.

You can add Grossman, Villar, Carter, and JD to a certain extent to that list of players not doing great as Astros in their debuts. It really can take up to a 1000 ABs to find out if a player can last in the majors.

I'm not an advocate of just firing coaches but at some point a different voice might be needed at least at the ML level. I don't think Hudgens is a bad coach, just not the right one for this group of hitters.

Reed/Bregman are not failures, not an indictment of the system. Not yet. Not for a while.

And if Musgrove/Devenski/Martes go the way of Tyler White, your strategy goes out the window. Don't be a prisoner of the moment. Though the moment is admittedly important for this particular season...but we have to be able to look beyond, especially when we're not odds-on favorites right now. LMJ today putting an even bigger dent in things
