The reason that is such a good price is because it is a rear projection. Still a really nice set, but bulkier than an LCD or Plasma. Edit - Nevermind, I just saw your post where you said you don't care if it's projection/lcd/or plasma. I'd say that's a good price. I remember I wanted a Grand Wega 3 years ago but they were $4,000+. Crazy how much prices have fallen in just a few years.

hey nothing's wrong with the DLP/3LCD rear projections. They may take up alittle more space, but more bang for your buck, plus they aren't heavy at all. i have a 50in sony and it weighs like 75 pounds. the sxrds are one of the best HDTVs period.
its everywhere. I know for a fact, there's tons of brown zunes that microsoft is trying to get rid of.
Hows your viewing angle on that Sony? I have the Grand Wega flavor of Sony HD's and it can get pretty bad. It also darkened on me pretty quick. Bulb still going strong though... Any insider info on the Samsung 720p? My Sony model used to compete directly with that model but they replaced em with the SXRD and Bravia. But the Samsung is still standing strong. Makes me wonder.
Ziggy, have you looked at this? http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/prod...kid=j13459594k134025&affiliateid=k134025&mid= Tempting.
Ya especially for $1299. I suppose I'd have to break my neck to get in on that deal though. CC also has a 50in Zenith at $999. It has a decent contrast ratio too. But I have never seen one in action. Hard to even find reviews. Gonna be a tough week for me. Thanks for looking out for me Rizz. I appreciate it.
When I was at Best Buy yesterday I asked the guy about price matching. He said they won't price match Black Friday deals. I explained to him that the deals at Circuit City were advertised as a 2 day sale, Friday and Saturday, and he said he *thought* they would be able to price match that. I was asking specifically for that 46 inch Sharp.
$1299 is a stupid crazy price. The Black Friday websites state that this isn't a super limited item. So can I walk into CC on Friday and expect to get one? If anyone works or talks to a CC employee about this TV let me know. This might be the best deal I have seen. And here is a quick breakdown of CC's deals (that interest me). 46in Sharp LCD (1080p-10,000:1) $1299 [Sears has it at $999] 50in Samsung Plasma (720p-15,000:1) $1399 50in Zenith Plasma (720p-15,000:1) $999 Extremely tough choice to make IMO, I have NO clue how many of each set stores will have. Any recommendations?
you can get best buy info here: http://www.bestbuy.com/thanksgiving...20&URL=http://www.bestbuy.com/thanksgiving2jt high-in-demand items, you have to go there at 3am to get a damn TICKET!
The rumored Office Depot $300 37" LCD is apparently false. Their ad clearly shows $649. I'm guessing someone saw the $300 off statement right above the tv ad and mistakenly thought they were going for $300. http://www.blackfriday.info/scans/officedepot/ As for the Olevia 37" Widescreen LCD...Target has one for $100 cheaper than Office Depot ($549). This Olevia has 1080i resolution. http://bfads.net/Olevia-37-1080i-Widescreen-LCD-HDTV-at-Target edit: Sorry...I'm a total noob when it comes to current tv technology. I was just informed by a coworker that 1080p and 1080i are two totally different resolution layouts. pwnd by technology.
so ok i know the 1080p is the best right now. but what is supposed to be better between 720p or whatever and 1080i???
It is hard to tell the different actually, but 720p SHOULD be better since its progressive, while 1080i is interlaced. While there are more vertical lines with 1080i, it isn't progressive so it isn't "true" HD. Atleast that is my understanding of it.
The 46in Sharp at Sears is the older model and is 720P. The model number on that one is LC46D43U. The one at Circuit City is 1080P. Model # LC46D64U
I could be wrong about this, but don't most 1080i model support 720p also? I know my model can do both.
ok so generally 1080p is best. then 1080i then 720p i want a new tv SO bad but i think i am prepared to wait one more until this time next year to get one.
