All the games are toss ups. Which is really dissapointing. This team has no confidence at all. They can beat jacksonville twice and they can hang with the giants, who they nearly beat and should have if they werent so conservatice, but then they can get humiliated by the titans and choke against the bills. Roster moves arent going to help this team. They lack intensity and discipline. So getting a good draft spot is meaningless. I would rather us win some games and know we are heading somewhere. No ****in way we lose to the colts, i will bet my life on that.
I took these off my phone. Andre Johnson! Okay, I kinda jacked up the last one. It's suppose to be a panoramic picture. maybe somebody can edit it.
Big mistake by our QB. AJ one on one is a good matchup, but we didn't need a good matchup, we needed a yard or burn clock...we did neither. Very disappointing loss, especially after how well we played for 3 quarters. But I said it at the beginning of the season and I'll say it again, we won't go anywhere w/o some decent players in our secondary. While they've improved somewhat, other than Robinson, our secondary is crap. The Texans need to invest something into our secondary, 6th round picks from Lousiana Lafayette aren't working.
AJ on Nate Clements is not a good matchup, apparently. By the way...Clements was right up on AJ...what the hell did Carr see that would cause him to audible?? I could understand if Clements were giving AJ some cushion...but when they're playing bump and run...with the way Clements played all day long...I just don't get what Carr saw that caused him to change the play at the line.
I watched the game with my ol' man. With about 10 minutes left in the game, I turned to him and said "you know, we're going to lose this game 24-21. I can just feel it." Damned if it didn't happen.
Hey, I'm not reading or hearing anywhere else that Kubiak called run and Carr audibled out. Justice's blog this morning talks about a rookie coach blowing that call....houstonprofootball.com talks about it, too. Do we know for sure that Kubiak called run and Carr audibled out??? Is our source on that solely that someone heard it on the post-game radio show?
Everything I heard was that it was Kubiak's call. This board is the first I heard of Carr audibling out. I've heard Carr say as recent as 2 weeks ago that he isn't even allowed to audibile.
That's the inherent problem with the Houston media... there's too many guys who seem too chummy with teams, and they end up reporting their own opinions (or takes on situations) as fact. Granato reports things he overhears on the sidelines... and uses his venue to report it as fact. Richard Justice hears rumors, tidbits, ramblings here and there... and uses his blog, or his radio appearences to report it as fact. Rich Lord doesn't do any real reporting... just rehashes the daily newspaper takes, or local news segments. Matt and Adam take a BBS-poster-like approach to their opinions, ranting and raving with all sorts of idiosyncracies, and they're way too influenced by public opinion. There's too many "fans" in the local media, and not enough reporters.
i don't think that's what happened here, though, nick. it sounds like one poster here said he heard Kubiak say he callled a run during the post-game conference. no one in the media is reporting that's what they heard or that's what happened, as best I can tell.
I thought Granato reported it as part of the post-game show... either way, I still stand by what I said. Its a big reason why we know about a ton of stories BEFORE they're broken by our local media.
Granato said this morning it was Kubiak's call. He said he liked the call by Kubiak and he likes the fact that Kubiak is a 'gunslinger' who takes chances. Carr said in in interveiw with Granato 2 weeks ago that he isn't allowed to call audibles and Granato talked about it for the next hour.
I hope he isn't allowed to call audibles because of teh system/coaching technique and not because he's incapable of making the correct decisions.
