The more I think about this game, the more it seems to me it all came down to the trenches. For the first quarter and a half the Bengals were consistently beating our O-line and D-line. There was no pressure on Dalton and he was able to pass all over us, and our O-line wasn't protecting TJ or giving Arian much to work with.

But then about halfway through the 2nd quarter, all the sudden things flipped. Suddenly holes were being opened up for Arian and Tate, TJ had time to throw and Dalton couldn't take his sweet time picking apart our secondary. I don't know if our coaches made adjustments or if we were just winning the war of attrition, but I like the way the tables turned so dramatically.

I'm still floating I'm so happy about this game.

It was a big difference between the teams - we keep pounding the ball on the ground and wore down their line, while they abandoned an ineffective Cedric Benson and were banking on quick throw pseudo West Coast passing to get yards.

The other huge piece was that we adjusted at half time, sustained drives, and gave our defense good breathers. They had been playing too much in the first half.

Just gotta shake your head at Bengals fans:

No respect. It's cool though, because I feel like we are going to play so loose next week and win.

"average RB" blew out any credibility he might want to have. This from a squad sporting Cedric Benson.

He is right though - the Bengals D totally quit in the 4th.

Well, in their defense, their lasting memory of Arian in this game will be that 40 yard TD run of his up the sideline. The one where it seemed like he was running right on the edge of the sideline for like 20 yards with a Bengals defender RIGHT THERE...and somehow they couldn't push him out of bounds. Had things been reversed and it was the Texans defense that got burned like that, I would have been super pissed too.

But it's no good reason to call Arian an average running back. That's just stupid.

There wasn't just one defender, there were TWO! I'm rewatching the game & that play just came up. Jacoby Jones was blocking another defender which Arian/Crocker squeezed between the sideline. So give credit to Jacoby for sticking with the block too!

GREAT PLAY . . . all across the board.

The stadium was incredibly loud yesterday. Great atmosphere. My ears were ringing after the game. Glad I could attend the 1st playoff game -- and win -- ever!

This was a good point. One of the things that always gets brought up when Andre is injured is that you lose something with Jacoby in the run blocking. But I think having been on this team for several years now has really improved Jacoby's run blocking abilities because he had a couple good moments yesterday. The guy still can't run a route, though.

Nice gesture, but that was a "football player" dream shake. :)

Congrats to the Texans, the better team won (sticking with the theme of the Bengals season), but I'm not even mad...as an average joe sports fan, yesterday was probably the greatest day of my life (thus far).

Well, our defense carried the day as Wade made adjustments. The whole team fed off each other and the avalanche came as we wore Cincy down physically and emotionally (Watt's play was obviously the momo swing).....very impressive considering we were missing Mario and Matt. Seeing the house rockin like that was really something to behold. Go Texans!

OOmp, thanks for posting those clips.

really craving some texans talk on the radio and nothing! such a lazy sports media we have. I've been listening to detroit radio, even after a loss, they went into the morning wanting their dcoordinator fired and are still going at it. Right now, I wouldn't mind seeing some DDakota homemade texans talk video.(i know careful what i wish for) =)

Just got done re-watching the game and going through the thread. I'm so glad that I decided to get tickets at the last minute and got a fairly decent deal on 40 yard line seats on row M behind the texans bench. It was an amazing experience.

The entire 4th quarter I kept repeating to myself " holy ****". Still can't believe it.

Just great defense. If the Texans continue to win, it'll be because of the D. That was an exciting game to watch. I hope they keep it going.
