Awesome performance today...just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully this gives them tons of confidence, as they see what they're capable of.

One thing that this game also proved is that it is becoming a pansy league. That play where the Bengals missed Walter when trying to just touch him while down but he actually wasn't and scored a touchdown.

Then, just after that, the Texan jumping on the Houshmandzadeh to ensure he was down draws an official's flag. I am in support of protecting the health of the players in the league but this is seriously becoming a joke.

Well? By your post here, and your qualifications, does the "The team does suck" apply anymore? Yeah, I called them... I used my ROLLOVER minutes: Check, check, check, check.

Props to the offensive line, they played really well. Props to Schaub, the line gave him time and he delivered. Also props to the whole team for not losing intensity. They slammed a bad team and never gave them a window, that's how you're supposed to handle bad teams. Good coaching job this week.

i like where the reds are heading...as long as jocketty hangs around. he won in st louis...i think he can do great things with the reds as well. really need to get rid of baker though.

the bengals arent going anywhere until mike brown is gone

it sucks being a reds/bengals fan...has been for awhile, the rays run gives me hope for the reds though.

Hah! I came back here to address this very issue.

I'm so glad the Texans hammered another team that sucks. It means they don't suck like I thought they did, and I'm so pleased to be proven wrong on this.

They are solidly mediocre. I was only able to 'see' yesterday's game in the form of Internet updates. :( I bet it was great fun to watch.

2:0 in the turnover battle! NOW, I want to see them win the turnover battle (and perhaps, it it's asking too much, the actual game) against another mediocre or (God forbid) a good team.

OH, and I case I wasn't clear enough:

Evidently msn was wrong, and the Texans don't suck. They're mediocre.

Are highlights available anywhere on the 'Net?

    Go Texans!

We were up 3-0 in the TO battle yesterday, no?

    Mario's FF
    Wilson's INT
    Robinson's INT

    Am I missing something?

One of the downsides of watching the Texans with your wife is having to hear her commentary on the looks of the opposing players. Apparently Ryan Fitzpatrick is dreamy.

On a side note, I have a real problem with the ridiculous dancing **** that my team was doing yesterday. If you're a guy like David Anderson that doesn't get in the game all that often and you get a TD, I guess I can understand it, though not condone it. But there were 4 or 5 different little mini-celebrations (one that drew a penalty, I believe) that were ALL unnecessary. Not only does it make you look like an amateur team that doesn't know how to handle success, but against a bad team with nothing left to play for (like the Bengals) I think it dramatically raises the danger of some rogue opponent going for the knees of one of your key players, hoping to cause injury. Luckily we came out unscathed, but you don't show up the other team like that when you are already embarassing them on the scoreboard. That's unprofessional crap and I hope Kubiak called them on it.

Outside of that, GREAT game. Nice to have Dunta back. That last pick was kind of a gift, but he should have had one before that anyway. I'm surprised the Bengals have given up so many sacks this year still having Levi Jones as their left tackle. Isn't he a pretty highly regarded LT?

been saying it for four season, Andre is the most complete receiver in football, he's the only receiver i've seen to have ever physical attribute to be the next jerry rice.

He needs more TD balls.....I like his numbers for my fantasy team....but I want some TDs too.

And just imagine if Sage hadn't bet on the Colts and threw that game ;) the team would be 4-3.

It's weird, it's almost as if teams completely forget about him until the Texans get in the red zone. Then the defense TOTALLY keys on him. Look at David Anderson's TD. If I recall correctly, Andre was the under route at the front of the endzone on that play. Both the CB and the safety went with Andre when he cut to the outside, leaving Anderson COMPLETELY open in the back of the endzone. The TD may have gone to David Anderson, but the biggest reason he got it was because of the threat of Andre.

Very pleased by what I saw in the game. The defense looked shaky the first couple of outings against a horrible offense, but things got easier as the game progressed. The running game wasn't dominant, but didn't need to be with the passing game 100%. The only question is whether they can play as well against a team in the playoff mix. I would love to see that happen. It'll be tough on the road against Minnesota's defense, but I like our chances against the Ravens the following week.

You're probably right. Again, all I had were some sporadic Internet updates.

    Thanks!

The win was so nice I was able to read this and only get a *little* perturbed.

    Baby steps.

i love what they've done these past 5 weeks, getting progressively better each game until they were able to put it all together yesterday. this looks like a team ready to start finally fulfilling its promise. no bye the rest of the way is going to hurt, though.

hopefully, we can put to rest "start rosenfels," "the texans should draft [QB]," etc., threads for a while. there's not a QB in football playing better than schaub right now.

this week's game in minnesota is quite possibly the biggest in franchise history; similiar to last year's early-season match-up against the colts. if they win - and i think they can - there's an outside chance they could make a playoff push; hell, the bills, jets and ravens are the only non-divsion leaders with a better record than the texans - they may be in the playoff push now - do you guys realize we're tied for second place (coughalsolastcough) in the division if the colts lose tonight?

a win would certainly galvinize a still-skeptical public at the very least, i think.

I think people are being way to harsh on the dancing moves. I thought they were ok.

Assuming everything else had happened the exact same way, yes, they would be 4-3. Had Sage not screwed up and they had beaten the Colts, perhaps Schaub would have been on a real short leash the next game and been yanked after the 2 early interceptions. Without the Rosenfels screw-ups there would have been a big QB "controversy" following the Colts game. We'll never know what their record would truly have been at this point.

Is it true we didn't punt the ball until the 4th quarter?? Wow.

It looks like the O-line is starting to come together and the RB's are starting to make the right cuts.

I have a question: Who should we pull for tonight? Colts or t***? As much as it will pain me, I may have to pull for the t***. We're not going to catch the t*** but we can still catch the Colts for a wildcard. It would be better for them to get another loss to make up for that gift we gave them a few weeks ago.

If the Titans beats the Colts tonight, we will be in a 4 way tie and one game behind the wildcard slot.

I know its mid season, but when you start 0-4 and have a legit shot.............for a long time Texans fan, thats exciting

I'm not ready to talk playoffs yet. Mediocre teams are *supposed* to hammer the likes of Cincinnatti.

Let us see what they do, having now had many weeks to learn the zone blocking and to put the "Ike" business far behind them, against average NFL teams and good NFL teams.

Where does Minnesota rank among NFL teams (I obviously have not followed)? Mediocre? Slightly sucky? Pretty decent? "Good"?
