Every swing was a miss except for one lonely foul ball vs Hader in the 9th. We are witnessing vintage Hader this season.
Well the new job is mostly in office (which I love) so day games are just checking scores, comeback wins always make for a better evening.......
You have to do it this way - I don't think that Lance is emotionally going to want to comeback from another serious injury. This is kind of an all or nothing scenario where you live in the moment. I could see move him to the pen and using him for an inning or two once a week - but the reality is that the Astros are down a half dozen starting pitchers. The injuries to Blanco and Wienski are killers. Both had high end potential.
So has Dubin lengthened the quality arms in the pen by 1 more? Sure looking good right now. That's 7 deep. Hader Abreu King Okert Ort Sousa Dubin As it stands right now, that's the best top 7 statistically speaking since our run starting in 2017.
McCullers with command is a tough guy to hit. His overlay is identical and his offspeed is nasty. Good luck.
His curve is elite. His slider is plus. His change is inconsistent. His fastball is trash. If he can work his mix and/or improve his changeup he can survive to the playoffs where he can then dominate with his curve. Otherwise every start is gonna be a nail biter where he gets a ton of strikeouts but also gives up a lot of runs and doesn’t consistently pitch past the 5th.
What happened to his FB you think? What can't he do anymore to generate more velocity that he could do pre injury? Wasn't he mid 90's before the injuries started happening?
