I see the Astros managed to win a game last night. That's good.

Think he is not calling for as many breaking pitches these days because he simply can't block them?

Losing the no-no in the 9th sucks but getting back in the win column is the important thing.

Brown's outing was encouraging (especially from a lineup that hit Framber and JV in back to back days).

I wish Dusty had treated Javier this way (5 inning/80 pitch limit) in his recent starts.

The rest vs rust adage. Pressly was Rusty.

Dusty had a chance for Javier to leave that Yankees games feeling great about himself but he just couldn't help himself from squeezing a few more outs. That unnecessary last inning ended up costing the game for us, once again. I have a feeling the front office pushed Dusty to not do the same with Hunter yesterday.

I don't know who pushed Dusty or he just decided after the Javier fiasco to change, but it was the absolute right thing to do.

I have been preaching short positive outings. Give young starters some rest and they leave with confidence of a good outing.

Where the bullpen is at, rest wise, figures into these decisions as well.

Of course it has to be a balance.

Maybe Kerry Wood gave him a catch-up call...

I'm still annoyed we dropped two games to these scrubs with our two aces on the mound. This team has given us some infuriating moments this season.

Divisional games are always different. Hard to predict sometimes.

The key is plate appearances. Just showing up is half the battle - Cal Ripken.

Who are we rooting for? Tex or Tor today?

I'm almost inclined to say Texas because I think they'll eventually fall down the line with their 7 games vs Seattle (want them to stay in contention so they beat each other up)

But if Toronto wins today it keeps Texas back 1.5 games from us and Toronto would still be 2 games back.

Good thing is... Seattle plays 3 vs Dodgers while we play the Royals. Hopefully we gain another game or 2.

I'll never root for Dallas. No matter what.
