Tha That’s insane isn’t it. But should Dusty put Chas in the lineup? I’m not putting him in front of Abreu and Uncle Mike at this moment. Only move I would make is Uncle Mike at 2 spot, Chas 7th and Pena 8th. But I really like how the offense is rolling right now with Pena hitting 2nd. It just made this lineup so much deeper. And I think his power is coming around, with few missed HRs in recent games.
Abreu’s OPS is in line with an 8-hole hitter. Chas is over 200 points better than Abreu. Nonsense to have Abreu hitting before Chas. Chas should be batting 2nd or 6th. I would bat him 5th and move tucker, yordan, and Bregs up.
Just win baby! Get a roll going and put some distance between the Mariners and the Rangers. Time is short, build the lead, build momentum, and roll into the playoffs, And end the season with a WS victory. That's not too much to ask is it?
I agree with you in principle but seniority and veteran status do count for something here. While Chas has better stats than Abreu, Abreu has been great since returning from the IL so it’s possible he’s back to form. When you factor in his history + contract then it’s easier to not disrupt team dynamics by putting a more junior player in Chas over Abreu. Main argument that I see would be to move Pena down but he’s been having recent success in the 2 spot so I’m ok not disrupting the top of the lineup. I know we are both big Chas fans so I’m frankly just happy he is in the freaking lineup! (And I assume he is too, regardless of batting order )
Yeah but it’s a performance driven world, professional sports. Abreu has had a lot of at bats to prove that he belongs in a power slot and he has largely failed. Undoubtedly, some Dusty backer will bring up Abreu’s rbi total but imagine how many he would have with an .889 OPS instead of .665 Chas has been here longer anyway and he has actually earned that respect because of what he’s done here, with the Astros.
Just as long as he's in the lineup. My everyday lineup: Altuve Pena Alvarez Bregman Tucker Abreu McCormick Diaz Brantley Brantley's obp makes him a great candidate to turn over the lineup.
Agreed. We have the tie breaker over Texas, and do not vs Toronto. Go Blue Jays. If they sweep (which I'm expecting) and we sweep (which I'm demanding), then we are 6 clear of the Rangers and the tie breaker. We would essentially punch our ticket to the playoffs.
54 RBIs in the last 63 games. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the league with more over that span. That dates back to the middle of June. I present facts, yet you people still spew out garbage. Put April and May completely out of your mind.
did I not present facts? Did I not give you their stats. Does Chas not have much better numbers? Did I not give facts?
