To all those who doubted Dusty’s decision to hit Abreu clean-up and DH Julks … you were right. Their helpless strikeouts looked even worse with every other batter either getting a hit or sending it to the warning track. And now we see what the top of the lineup can do with only two outs after the upcoming Maldy K.
Julks should not be starting. Now, if he ends up doing well, the usual “hindsight 20/20” folks will come on here and call me names. They will do this after the fact, where there is no risk and only glory for them. so be it.
Agreed. He's been a nice early-season story, and he's had some really solid at bats and overachieved from what I thought he'd do when he made the roster. But with Altuve back and no place to play Dubon every game, there's zero reason for Julks to be getting starts. Much less at DH when Dusty could use Dubon, Jake or Diaz.
Not only that but why play Julks 2 games in a row. I get the spot start every blue moon if you have him on the roster like Salazar but why not at the very least alternate him with Dubon or Diaz. He hasn’t close to earned consecutive games status like Dubon.
I'm genuinely curious if Abreu is even hitting homers in batting practice. If he even capable of hitting a hanging meatball middle middle out of the park?
