This doesn't line up with what Dusty just said a few days ago...he said the only reason Maldy started catching Brown was wanting to build familiarity with each other in case Diaz got injured...so does this mean Maldy is going to catch every one now? He's caught Hunter Brown, Valdez, Javier, France, Bielak, and now Hunter Brown again all in a row. When asked if Diaz would ever catch the other guys in case Maldy went down (much more likely to happen), Dusty said he hasn't even thought about that. Ever since that Dana Brown interview where he said he would see more of Yanier, Dusty/Maldy have completely iced out Yanier of catching. They can't give him even one regular pitcher to catch? That's cold.

 

He's going Dusty. But going where?

This really sucks! I don't want to not like Julks (was pulling for him all of last year) but now it is getting to the point I hate seeing his name on the roster. He isnt bad, we just have better options that deserve to play more.

 

If he doesn't get a certain amount of PA's, he'll be a "rookie" next season too

Yep. It’s basically Dusty’s fault I hate Maldy, Dubon and now Julks. It’s Abreu’s fault I hate Abreu.

 

I know you're joking and this is just a dig at Dusty but it's also just incorrect. There's a third metric for rookie eligibility beyond 130 at-bats or 50 IP. A player also loses rookie eligibility (for the next season) if they spend 45 days on an active roster, which by my count he's already done.

 

Hell, by that logic, Abreu should bat first.

Since May 3rd (the Day of the Brown quote) we have played 13 games (didn't count the game on the 3rd because the lineup had already been made by the time of the quote).

Catching: Maldy 9, Diaz 3, Salazar 1 (Diaz PH in that game).
1B and DH: Diaz 2.

Should be noted that in the first 4 games after the quote, Maldy and Diaz alternated starts with each getting 2. Since then (and counting today), Maldy 8, Diaz 1, Salazar 1. With Diaz also getting 2 games at C and DH.
