Well I mean Verlander is about to win a Cy Young at 39. I don't see him falling off in the next couple of years. Biggio was running on fumes. I would prefer a 3 year deal for J.V. instead of 4.
After giving up the tying run in the 8th on a routine error with 2 outs by their former Ranger SS You hate to see it.
Yankees keep trotting Clay Holmes out there in high leverage situations as if there's nothing to see here. Last 20 outings: 19 2/3 IP 17 R 15 ER Ouch.
Pitching was able to carry us through his slump, but this offense is simply on a different tier when Yordan is on.
Watching Quick Pitch on MLB network, they start the show off highlighting 4 significant events that occurred, Yordan hitting 3 consecutive home runs was not one of them. SMDH
Easy now...we hit 4 solo HRs I get your point though. Him, Bregman, Altuve, Tucker, Anybody, Anybody?, Anybody Else, hitting at the same time is a ridiculous offense
It's also not true, because I have the MLB network on in the background and I've seen the Bombs multiple times.
We got 1, 3, 4 and 5 solved beautifully. The issue remains 2 and 6. The 2 hole hitter needs to keep things going, get on base. The 6 hole hitter needs to drive in critical runs. We always have Yuli taking one of these 2 positions in the lineup, unfortunately. That we know is an issue. Mancini needs to get the 6 spot on an everyday basis and Pena seems to flourish in the 2 hole.
Most games with at least 5 innings pitched and allowing no hits. Ryan 8 Verlander 5 Maloney 4 Koufax 4
Admittedly I go there for the highlights but I instantly get distracted by the ever purposeful hosts so I lose all my rooting fandom until I shake it off and move on from MLBN.
JV increases his chances at that 3rd Cy Young with tonight's performance. Lowers league leading WHIP to a scant 0.83 Lowers league leading ERA to a scant 1.78 AL leader in wins with 17 (17-3) vs Cease 14-7
Pay attention. I said they led off the broadcast highlighting 4 events that occurred they thought were most significant. It was the intro to the show. They do this every night. Of course they show the highlights of EVERY game every night. Tonight the lead to the show was: 1) Pujols hits #698 (I get that) 2) Atlanta ambushes the Phils (I guess) 3) Springer/Chapman power BJays (Whatever) 4) A pair of center fielders are on center stage in Anaheim (this is ridiculous, does anyone give a flying **** about Trout and his pathetic team?) Here's my top 7 topics of the night: 1) Pujols hits 698 2) Yordan 3 consecutive homers off the SAME pitcher 3) Yankees blow a 5-0 lead 4) Yankees suck hard and are 38-41 in their last 79 games 5) Montas is a complete joke 6) Clay Holmes should be sent down to the minors 7) Boone is getting fired But hey that's just me.
