Did Carlos come into the league as a great defensive player? I'm just asking I don't know baseball. Does Pena still have the ability to grow into a better defender?
At least someone thought it a good idea to nail the hanging breaking ball he's been throwing up there all game.
He is already very good defensively. People using errors as the main barometer for good defense is the reason Derek Jeter got so many defensive accolades. It doesn't take into account how many extra balls you are able to get to. He does need to clean up the errors, particularly lazy ones like the last inning, but the errors are preventing him from being the best defensive shortstop in baseball, not good, which he already is.
Really not a fan of Jake throwing 4 straight balls at the exact same location. It burned harder than if he walked him too.
Any reason you leave Odorizzi in after he gives up the single? Thought for sure that was the end of the line for him. Now Dusty has just put this game in question. Great job Dusty.
I really want this one so the Astros can go into the All Star break with 60 wins. Stinker Boy isn't helping at the moment.
