Any non-playoff team in contention for Correa is on the up-and-up, Detroit, Miami, etc. Any abysmal teams such as the Rangers or Cubs would have an A-Rod in Arlington situaiton on their hands. If you're going to be awful, there's no reason to be awful with a high salary.

fangraphs valued him at 45 million this season based on WAR. If these players weren’t worth the contract they wouldn’t be shelled out like they are, surprised by the amount of fans that side with Billionaires over Millionaires

Fans are loyal to their team and nothing else. Whether or not you like an owner, he is glued to your franchise, players come and go.

Support Crane, Tilman and McNair or stop following/supporting the franchise. I'm not saying that to question peoples fandom, but as a simple fact, there are only 2 options.

Third option, follow team and b@#$% and moan incessantly about the owner to the chagrin of nearly everyone else that hears the b@#$%ing and moaning.

Doesn't mean fans can't try to influence decision making of those owners. Definitely has happened in the past.

What Carlos is looking for is different than what the market will pay. It’s pretty clear Carlos wants both a long contract and north of 30 million a year. Lindor signed at 10 years for 34 million. Tatis signed at just under 25 per year, but it took 14 years to do it.

8 years puts his next free agency at 35 which is not a great age to get a big contract. 8 at 25 million per year is not going to be that attractive to him unless it’s front loaded and has early opt outs.

I could be underestimating the risk tolerance of clubs given new bargaining agreements on the horizon and the impact of Covid, but I think someone will be willing to go 8 years at a higher dollar number or longer at 25 per year.

Seems the road the Texans' fans on CF has gone. The b****ing and moaning that is.

I thought Drayton deserved plenty of blame for the state of the farm system from 2007 on. Was it wrong to call them out on that? Thankfully he sold before they could sell off more prospects for short term fixes.

The post I responded to asked why people side with owners, that's why.

You can feel free to complain or not like it, but at the end of the day you're gonna buy what he's selling or not, and nobody else in Houston sells it.

    I guess that’s a simplified view… that you can’t trade the owner.

However I disagree that people should be quiet when owners are making noticeable decision making mistakes…. Similarly how when managers or players make bad decisions, we typically do call them out on it (even though our words have no real direct impact).

What he wants and what he’ll get aren’t in the same ballpark

Networks haven't been paying attention that the Astros are hated so much that it leads to more eyes on them. They are praying for the Yankee's to advance and even if they do...Astros vs. White Sox or Yankees vs. TB for ratings. TB brings squat to the ratings table. Chicago audience plus Houston audience plus Astros haters could very well provide higher prime time ratings.

Doesn’t Tampa proper actually tune in well for Rays games? The reason why people don’t go to the games is because its way the F out there in St. Pete.

But in the end, they’re not going to put the Yankees market in day games if the night game is available. The Boston media market is now below Houston’s so certainly could make the case there…. Albeit the Red Sox are still have a larger national following.

I'd agree if we're playing the Cubs. We're playing their shitty little brother that lacks any following outside of 1/3rd of Chicago.

If Springer had a hard time getting $150 million then I don't see Correa getting $300 million.
