All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PVP that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on Root Sports unless otherwise noted. 7-7 Rich Hill, LHP vs. Doug Fister, RHP 7:10 7-8 Daniel Mengden, RHP vs. Collin McHugh, RHP 7:10 7-9 Kendall Graveman, RHP vs. Lance McCullers, RHP 3:10 7-10 Sean Manaea, LHP vs. Dallas Keuchel, LHP 1:10
So... the (possibly big) question to ponder: do the Astros leave this series with any current Oakland A's on their roster?
3-1 or sweep! Most worried about the opener tonight. Rich Hill has been tough this year, and Fister looked a little wobbly last time out.
With the way the Rangers are sucking wind right now, the division is truly winnable. So awesome how hot we are from top to bottom right now, even Hinch is showing flashes of brilliance.
Rangers have a home series with the Twins to get to the all-star break. Let's sweep to keep the pressure on!
If we would have won those two against the White Sox, this would be a lot more interesting before the break. We need one more bat and one more arm, and we are ready for war.
No matter what happens, it's insane that we have a chance at getting to 50 wins before the All-Star break given how we started.
I would love to see Rich Hill and Danny Valencia switch sides before game time. Honestly I don't feel good about this series at all.
Would be awesome if the Twins could take 2 from the rangers and we sweep. Would put us 11 games over .500 and 4.5 out. If the break was today, the record is what it is today, and the struggles of April hadn't happened (making where we are that much more exciting), I'd still be satisfied with where we are. It would be much more expected to be 7 games over at the break than having been 11 games under.
Keep it going. Can't take the As lightly. Rangers are going to try to sweep the twins. Minnesota twins fan for the weekend as well. Finally some exciting baseball
Short-season mentality creeping in here again. If anything, this season should serve as a constant reminder of how freakin long the season is.... they've made up 5 games in a matter of weeks again. Could lose that ground just as rapidly, regain it, or double the distance between them and the Rangers (in a good way) before the last month starts... only to have another month from hell like last season. Just gotta keep doing what got them to this point. Good starting pitching, elite bullpen work, MVP-level production from Altuve, Cornea-Springer both taking turns with hot streaks... and guys like Valbuena-Rasmus-Gattis taking turns with the power.
This is the one of the things I love most about baseball. In football, you can run out the clock. In basketball, fouls happen and it just is a different game at the end. In baseball, a team always gets its last at bat. The opposing team can put in its best pitcher against them, but there are no shenanigans to stop batters from coming to the plate.
