BTW, guys Dusty played "just for Verlander" went a combined 0-8 and the guy he didn't start because he "can't hit" went 1-1.
this is an imperfect comparison based on runs total and starting pitching performance: this game reminded me of games in 2019 where Cole would have no walks and double digit strike outs, and Astros would lose 2-1 or 1-0
When that kind of thing happens to the best team you could put in the game, it's one thing, but when your manager intentionally brings out the JV team and it happens, it's sabotage
All season long I've been waiting for regression to hit them. They have so many dudes that are having career years I expected them to fall off.
Yup, in 2019 it was the best lineup just having crap games and giving an ace no run support. Now, it's the manager essentially sabotaging the offense out of stubborn obstinacy with dreadful lineups and in-game decisions.
I remember when Diaz went 6-0 to start off the season and Maldy was like 5-13 at the time. Astros social media tweeted that and then deleted it later after a Dusty interview praising Maldy
Agreed. Self care is so important in today's stressful world. I recommend minimum of 3 months of rest and relaxation for Maldy. Don't even touch a baseball during this time.
I doubt it. These guys crawled through a river of ish and came out clean on the other side. Maldy does read social media. He knows what 'the haters' are talking about.
Dusty is a poor manager. Spare me the “he won us a ring” excuse. He inherited one of the best teams in baseball. We won in spite of Dusty. Setting an optimal baseball line up isn’t rocket science. Most casual fans could do it better then Dusty does.
They aren't going to fall off. The Stros are going to have to chase them down and Dusty certainly isn't helping his team.
feels like that they are just hot and it’s a fluke season for them. No way they are this good this quick now 9-6 rangers
Question #6 Why does your manager continue to have your 37 year old azz on pace to catch 125-135 games?
When you add premium pitching talent to a young stacked lineup after going out and signing Seager/Semien in FA, that's a team that will turn things around quickly and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Came back from five runs down and won by one run. They are not the Rangers of old. This year, they seem very consistent.
