I wouldn't go that far, but there has been some school of thought that teams should arrange their pitchers in a manner like:

    #1, #4, #2, #3, #5

In that order, your #1 guy saves the bullpen more often than not, assuming that the bullpen is taxed more with the #4 and #5 guys on the mound.

So the Astros have 8 innings to score 6 runs. I suppose it's impossible. It probably never happened last year. In fact, I think only 5 teams have ever scored more than 6 runs. So OVER right?

And no, we don't need a reliever for tomorrow. It's day 2 (3 tomorrow) of the season. They'll be fine.

geez, maybe AROD can hit a grand salami and the Yanks post a 10 spot in the inning! Wouldn't that be fun.

I wonder if they send somebody down after this game to bring up another pitcher?

I agree with that, the problem is we have 4 starter that are number 4 or 5 pitchers.

We don't "really" have a number 2 or 3 starter.

Well hopefully he keeps it consistent with the Astros' hitters.

After last season a pitching regression may not be surprising. Musgrove has a good chance to be up this year and keep an eye on a trade for an ace at the deadline.

Is losing 6-1 in the first similar to losing to the nuggets by 20 in your home opener? I don't want to go through that again.
