Yep... would love for umps to make such a call and automatically award the DP regardless of how close or not close the throw to first would have been. That would stop people from sliding egregiously pretty damn quickly.
Stros are going to have to win with these 2 runs. Our big swings don't match up well with Betances and Miller's power stuff.
I understand the sliding wide to affect the throw, etc. etc. because it's tradition or whatever. But don't slide AFTER you get to the bag to affect a throw. That's just dirty and wrong. He's lucky it's a tight game. That's all I'll say.
