This was very much a TEAM WS with each player having memorable moments which would garner an MVP in other years.

    Framber's outstanding games. Javier's No-Hitter. Pressly's high leverage outs. Mancini's 1B play. McCormick's catch. Tucker's plays. Pena's hitting. Bregman's consistency. ETC. ETC. ETC.

I would agree that it was a team win.

I can think of a positive play that contributed to a win by almost every player on the roster.

But I would agree that Yordan was no better than 5th among those deserving MVP.

Without researching or looking back he is behind Pena, Bregman, Framber, and Pressly.

    Which play? The groundout?

It would appear that Pena caught the ball in the air which would mean the batter was out. Why would he have to throw it to first?

I think it was a chopper off/just in front of the plate. You can tell by the way Segura got out of the box.

It's incredibly clear that the ball bounced a few feet in front of the plate.

Oh, doesn't appear that way to me at all. It was clearly chopped off the plate.

Yes. The Segura at bat. I never saw it chopped off the plate.

Chazzy, MLB ranked your catch as the best!
Still amazed he caught it. Who knows, Springer out there over jumps and gets concussed in the process. Dubon doesn't get enough lift. Jake Myers breaks in half. The baseball gods drew it up specifically for Chas. Same with Mancini's rob.

That catch took all Phillies hopes and dreams away. Pretty neat story that he goes there as a kid to root for the Phillies.

I could see him improving in 2023, the confidence factor playing in the World Series will help, along with another year in the majors.

    I rewatched some highlights.

    It amazes me how:

Altuve hit a ball very similar to Reamulto's and ended up on 3rd.

Hoskins booted a ball very similar to the play by Mancini costing the Phillies a run.

I loved watching the defense in that game.

Going into the series one of the differences I noted were how good the Astros were defensively and how weak the Phillies were. It played out in this game.

In pressure filled series defensive lapse are magnified. Defensive gems that normally aren't made seem to be dream killers to me.

Y'all seriously can't see that the ball was chopped at the plate and bounded way in the air all the way to Pena running in from short?

When pornhub did away with the homemade vids there was a backlash, had they not brought them back it would have been a Tumblr like collapse.
This amateur video of Yordan's homerun is something else from the "please, Yordan" to the camera panning to the nearest Philly fan. Let's take another look

This is on pornhub. “Best cumshot 2022.” is the title I believe.

Great video! Funny, I was saying the same thing as him at the game... "just get a ball in play... preferably deep to the outfield."

When he first hit it, I was honestly thinking that should just be deep enough to get the run home.... then it kept going... then it kept going.... and I actually didn't see it go over the wall in real time due to all the craziness (figured it just hit off the batters eye... because who hits balls over it?!?).

Goes to show you that in the moment, Yordan was in a power slump and most of us weren't expecting THAT.... but as the legend goes, and this moment ages from here on out, nobody will remember the power slump or the number of AB's in between HR's that post-season for him. They'll remember the Seattle series, and this game, and that's all that matters.
