I can relate and you’re spot on. My dad passed July 2016 from pancreatic cancer at 69. He was a hard core Astros fan and obviously turned me into a fan. I hated that he never saw them win it. I balled in 2017 but last night all I could do was smile and nod approvingly. Sweet redemption and proof this has been NO fluke! Bless your passed loves ones. Life is short so soak it up.
Anyone know how long the parade goes for? I won’t be able to leave the montrose area until 1. Wondering if it’s even worth it to go
They were a tough ass out and we had to put our foot on their neck and never let up, Still took a lot of luck too to put them down. Any other year maybe we wouldn't have done it.
As long as he doesn't trade for the Mike Fiers, Ken Giles, Carlos Gomez, and Roberto Osunas of the world.
This would be incredible, he built a dynasty... He can be the GM of The Rockets too... I'd take him as GM of both Rockets and Astros...
The Astros already have made offers for him to work in the front office or big league coaching staff. At one point around the all star break he had discussed retiring at the end of the 2022 season and the Astros encouraged him to wait and see what he wants to do. I haven’t heard anything about it since the end of the regular season when he supposedly was undecided.
Crane would like to see that level of aggression as well… he wanted to see it last spring and at the trade deadline… and it was a problem. I’ll be curious to see what Crane does with Oz and Pete gone. Almost any owner would renew their GM after a title. If there is an owner with the balls to go another direction, it is Crane. The Astros don’t have to make a lot of changes, but they clearly need at least one major upgrade at OF or 1st.
Thank you for sharing your story may your father rest in peace. Sports can be a wonderful thing that can bring all kinds of people from all walks of life together.
