They lose ONE player and they cancel the game. We lose 4 and they say PLAY BALL! Nothing to see here as they scream CHEATERS.
It's never fun to lose, but I'd much rather lose against great pitchers having a great game than making struggling rookies look like Cy Young. ps Great pitchers know how to take advantage of an umpire with an expanded zone. You don't keep throwing non competitive pitches. You make them all close enough to call either way.
You realize if all pitchers could throw it exactly where they wanted to... whenever they wanted to... they'd all be in the HOF? Yes, if you throw pitches right on the border-line of the strike zone consistently, you're going to be pretty damn good... regardless of an umpire. Rodon was lights out. As he's been for most of the season. The Astros couldn't hit him in Houston in the game they ended up winning. He's having at tremendous year and its frustrating that anybody could have signed him away and he fell right back into their laps.

Hitting slumps are part of the 162 game season. It's annoying when it happens to the whole team at once, but it's really nothing to worry about
so if I'm reading this right his curveball spin rate isn't too far below his usual. he had a good peak on his changeup in mid to late June. his 4-seam FB and sinker have been pretty consistent. I don't understand why he's doing so bad then?
He's had bad homer randomness while not being quite as good as previously in the K and walk department. I'd say there is a decent chance he was using something to help with with control on the curve. His slump is probably mostly randomness other than the NY game that he sucked.
