I love the knee jerk reactions of this board. For once Garner used a left against a power lefty hitter. This game is still tied.

What are you talking about!?! Garner goes lefty on lefty way too much and has done it blindly all season. Did you miss every time Gallo came into the game just because he was a lefty to go against a lefty?

Yeah the game is still tied, but Miller walked the leadoff guy that he faced. The fact remains that Miller isn't that good and shouldn't be used in tie game 9th inning situations regardless of who is batting.

This White Sox team seems to have its share of Astro Killers with Crede leading the bunch.

Since the slam happened in the 7th, I take it back. I turned it on (after turning it off early) and heard slam and I wanted the Astros put out of their misery after blowing a great start.

Oh hey look, we're going to the tenth.

The only real time I would advocate using Miller in a close game is when a power hitting left handed hitter is up, which is what Garner did there with Thome. In the past he'd bring Gallo or T. Miller in just to freaking do it. Even though W. Miller and Qualls have been better against leftys, for once I agree with Garner's bringing in T. Miller in a close game.

I don't remember disagreeing with that. My only point was we're not behind and the game's not over yet.

Well in retrospect it wasn't the right move because Wheeler had to come in and bail Miller out. Miller should not be used in those situations simply because he is a lefty.

    W. Miller isn't on the team anymore. ;)

Yea...it's not over till Posednik hits another homerun to put us out of our misery. And, he never hits homeruns. ;)

For some reason I was calling Wheeler Wade Miller and every time I typed Qualls I wanted to wrongly type Gallo. Guess that invalidates my point. :D

Anyway, despite it not working, I think for once bringing in the lefty specialist was justified. I think you also have to give Garner credit for immediately yanking Miller and not leaving him in.

I guess this is gonna be a repeat of the 14 innin game. Then tomorrow look for a game 4 redux. :p (I think I've moved beyond frustration now)

God please don't let us lose on a Walk off bases loaded walk again ... I don't know if I can take that.

We better watch for the squeeze too.

A f-ing bunch of BS. It sucks we have to be victimized. Bend over and take it like men I guess. The Astros are good at that when it comes to the White Sox. Their still laughing at us.

Garner needs to learn that Qualls is not the guy to bring in with men on in tight games. I think you get rid of Qualls and go with Wheeler followed by someone else. How many times have we ended up losing when Garner brings Qualls into situations like this? Garner cost us this game in my opinion.
