And yet this team put up nine runs today... more than enough to win a game.

Took the words right out of my mouth. 9 run lead for astros is nothing. White Sox and their disgusting manager didn't even blink when they were down 9-2 going into the 8th.

So is the solution to score more runs? 9 should be enough.

Ausmus displays his "nearly" warning track power.

    A catcher that can't hit home runs.....wow......

HA! And now Ausmus hits a deep fly ball, which would have been deep enough to score that run in the 10th but just shy of a hr. Face it this team is just cursed against the Sox.

No doubt.....but Garner continues to run the same class clowns out there....

    Lidge with a 5.55 era...and how many blown saves? 6 already...come on?????

Is there anyone in the bullpen with a sub 3.00 era???

i wanna see the astros lose. they dont deserve to win. if they do pull it out they're gonna laugh it off and act like blowing a 8 run lead is funny

    Nope.

And as much I wanna defend Lidge (and Wheeler and Qualls) who have shown periods of their former selves but not nearly consistently enough, it may be nearing time to do something. I'd like to say that the Sox just got their mojo working over time right now and the things they are doing are not normal, but that doesn't produce any real solutions.

Why not give Nieve more of a chance in the pen...maybe bring up Chris Sampson again. I dunno. But we should have won this series if it wasn't for those late big-time blown leads. And the funny thing is the bullpen did a great job in the 1st game...when we were already losing. Go figure.
