I want to at least see some fight in the Stros and maybe make them regret taking Morton out. Nevermind.
Zack Greinke gets a lot of criticism for not having a sense of humor but his impersonation of postseason Clayton Kershaw is spot-on. Miley needs to ****ing retire. Let him just throw 90 pitches. Our offense also needs to wake the **** up already.
Um yea. This game is over. We are not going to overcome this kind of deficit against this pitching staff.
Okay. Bats need to wake up. At least get Morton out quickly and eat some innings out of the Rays bullpen.
Yes, but they put up 15, 8 and 8 runs in their last 3-game series against them in late August. It's the playoffs. You have to score runs, and you have to do it against good pitching. The Astros are not going to win anything if they can only manage 2-3 runs a game. At some point, they have to be able to put up big numbers like they did in 2017.
Miley's in there for garbage time. Hinch knew the game was pretty much over at 5-1 with his dead offense. It shouldn't have been. Rondon and Miley were an experiment. I think Hinch has more faith in Rondon than it looked like, but once he gave up a hit, he decided he wasn't going to strain his arm anymore. I'd expect Tucker and the backups in there next inning possibly with Miley still pitching. I'd consider starting them tomorrow if they do alright. Our outfield batting has been putrid as has been previously pointed out.
I'm generally very optimistic, but the idea of scoring 8 more runs off this Rays pitching staff is HIGHLY unlikely. Then tomorrow with Urquidy is gonna be a toss-up.
it's a minor point given the score but it definitely seems that Morton is getting calls on his pitches that the Astros weren't getting
